I knew FDR tinkered with the economy with horrible results but didn't know those ideas came from Stalin. Yeah, I want to read this. I just ordered it. Thanks! Yeah, and the French had a treaty with the Poles to attack Germany within 2 weeks if Poland was attacked. They never even considered attacking, don't think they ever meant to but if they did...things could have went a lot different. I wonder how this affects Polish-French relations now? I mean, would Poland trust France now?
Kinda the way Kennedy promised military aid to the Cubans fighting Castro, we were supposed to be there for the Bay Of Pigs Invasion, but America sat it out. We all know how that worked out.
Yeah, it makes you wonder what was really said and their reasoning. I mean, he trained and armed the Cubans then, when SHTF, he abandoned them. Yeah, I know what the history books say but what was the real reason...fear of what the American public would say about an invasion or political opposition or fear of the Soviet Union coming to their aid. Probably all of this and more.
Since you gave me such a great recommendation (above book) I thought I would return the favor: The Forsaken: An American Tragedy in Stalin's Russia - Tim Tzouliadis
