No, it's not really going to change for non-Muscovites no matter what happens.
They got propaganda, we got propaganda.
We are in a post truth world so nothing is real anymore.

Well, there is that ICC in the Hague warrant out on him. But you know, we don't like to play by European rules anyway.
A bunch of my friends are all cranked up about it. I'm thinking about how many Americans should probably have warrants out for their arrests as well. Anyway, I kinda like the idea of Putin getting a hall pass. I still think he's an asshole but I also think that all world leaders are as well. I just think that he and Trump are the ones that might not be beholden to some corporation or cabal somewhere.
And maybe one of those leaders in South America.

So Trump was the first US President to step foot on North Korean Soil. Now he talked Putin into stepping into the US, not just the US, but a freakin' military base.

I don't think it's so much about sluffing off "international" arrest warrants. I look at it more like diplomatic talks between waring factions and getting a positive result. Think of it this way when the German high command met with the French high command at the end of WWI. If the French would have arrested or assassinated the top generals the war would have gone on for years later. Even if Germany was totally destroyed there would have been guerilla warfare being fought on a constant basis. When there are high level stakes allowances need to be made. I think this was the right decision.

All of that aside you are right about the European rules. What have they done to stop this war? All of their eyes look to America as the bully on the block to go and take out the latest bully that has shown up in the neighborhood. After that's done it will be back to bellyaching about how bad Trump is to their economy, society, what have you. As long as America is useful to the Europeans they love us and our leaders. If we are not useful to their agenda it's back to the same old, same old.

Still astounds me that Putin came to American soil to discuss terms to stop a European war. He sure didn't involve any of these European nations nor were they invited. Kind of let's everyone know how the cow chews the cud.

God knows, I would have loved to be a fly on the wall when Schummer and the other democrats had to look at the Putin-Trump meetings and video's. He is the president that they are trying to render impotent so they have to watch it. About now there is probably a market for bullet proof monitors. "Yes my friends our Appex model 2026 Monitor will withstand thrown objects, being thrown out window, (3 floors or less), being hit or kicked, on sale for the next 5 minutes at the special price."

I have no argument with or against the actions he takes. Unlike several of our recent presidents, he doesn't dilly dally around, he does things. You can argue that it is dangerous but he does things, One of the first things I learned in the military at 18 is still fresh in my mind at 87. Doing nothing is a decision and your actions will hare results. If you do something, it influences the results, but so does doing nothing.

It's basically over - supposedly Russia has agreed to go directly to a Peace Agreement VS a ceasefire - which everyone already knows won't work >>> "It's up Ukraine now" - Zelensky >>> and - he won't be given a choice anymore - he's gone and someone else will be taking over .....

BIG QUESTION NOW >>> it's been understood that a joint world represented military force will move into Ukraine to be "Peace Keepers" - the US will be represented - Who else? - won't be NATO - most likely none of the larger Euro countries - will it be another UN rented mercenary bunch of questionables ......

I'd guarantee that was one of the first "musts" that Putin wouldn't budge on >>> the US keeps Zelensky and the Ukrainians under control - they are the reason why a ceasefire without any kind of outside supervision wouldn't work ......

dealing with Ukraine isn't any different than dealing with the Slavic maniacs during the Balkan Wars - they could give two shits about their very own people suffering - as long as they got to shoot their weapons and kill one more Muslim/ Christian

I think she is correct that most Russians don't pay attention to what is happening with their government, much like most Americans didn't a decade or two ago and things went from bad to worse, so now we do. However, there they do not have much choice unlike here - so - why concerned themselves.

I do know the normal Russian isn't hurt by the current sanctions, China and other countries have picked up the slack so while you might not be able to purchase Coca-cola, you can still get numerous other colas, and this is about the same in most things. I do think these new sanctions, if imposed, will hurt the country - yet - the normal people won't feel it immediately. Yet, I wonder if they will get India and China to play along with those sanctions...I do not believe it is a sure thing they will.

I guess we'll know Monday or certainly Tuesday if anything will happen when President Z gets to the states. The fact he is coming is a positive sign - I mean - he could have said, 'No' over the phone.

As far as the Hague warrant for Putin's arrest...Who cares. "How many divisions has the ICC?" to steal a Stalin quote. However, the real reason is the United States is not a member of the ICC...neither is Israel btw.

People are people everywhere. I oppose much of what Russia is doing as a country, though we got the Putin and the Russia we deserved after not keeping our promises regarding NATO expansion while the West raped them economically. While I may oppose Russia's ations the Russian people are just along for the ride just like we are. Same goes for China, whose power and ambitions far exceed Russia.

I hope that Trump's negotiations with Russia involve bringing Russia into the West in a mutually beneficial relationship instead of continuing to push them into a corner where they few options none of which are good for anyone. I am NOT talking about appeasement

I'd love to see Trump pull this off. End the war, Win the Nobel Peace Prize and get Time's Man of the Year.
The lefties would explode. Maybe it would be a good thing. Unfortuantely, the war machine wants money and control so this is going to be interesting.

Biden will get the Nobel Peace Prize. Without Biden's incompetence there would have not been any conflicts for Trump to clean up, so without Biden there would never have been peace/

Now that is an interesting idea! :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: However, I must object, for this wasn't President Biden's incompetence, no sir, absolutely not! It was meticulously planned and implemented. Besides, Biden was napping at the time...

Even Fox News, usually a safe landing pad, couldn’t spin it. Senior White House correspondent Jacqui Heinrich bluntly reported that Trump “got steamrolled by Putin” — on Fox News! For a president who treats media coverage like oxygen, that’s a suffocating assessment.
