    Zimmy Wait, I'm not ready!

I'm doing better after the ablation but they have me on meds making me slow and energetic as a sloth so my heart can go light duty.

I'm still getting at least 10k steps in but I am slow as heck. Hernia surgery hopefully before Christmas.

35 year lowest weight at 222.

Heart failure doc says labs suggest no permanent heart damage. I get some super duper scan of some sort on 13OCT. That will tell.

Good to see ya back! 10,000 is a bunch of steps, especially medicated! Keep at it!

It's good to see you here. 10K steps counts no matter what pace you go and I think that's really impressive.
I'm keeping you in my thoughts and prayers for healing.
Continue to go slowly and listen to your body. There's no rush!

For now, I'm doing laps in the 50-metre pool. Yesterday, I did a total of 40, so I swam 2 kilometres. Today, I can barely move. Old and stupid.

@SarahBellum I see you're really enthusiastic! Keep it up and may it last as long as possible.

Wow! Great job. I really love those long course 50 metre pools. Hope you will be able to rest and feel better.
Thank you so much. I'm trying to embrace healthy living as a lifestyle. Some days are easier than others.

I've been taking the weekend off after completing that 10 week program and it's been nice. Although I look like I lost a fight with the world's largest octopus after Friday's massage and cupping session. I really love cupping and am so happy that my therapist is a practitioner.
Thank you for allowing me to do a little mourning here. I figured that it's a good reminder. We all have expiration dates and staying healthy will prolong our time and quality of life.
I was writing my penpal yesterday and telling her about my original penpal (my Grandma.) Part of the story was talking about trips that my family took with her to Hawaii (they were both trips that I wasn't present for.) I became profoundly sad from the memories. Losing my Grandma when she was 94 was very sad, but I knew that she had lived a full life. Losing my Dad at 69 still feels so unreal.
On their last trip to Hawaii, they went on a dinner cruise and a local artist performed for them. Later that year, I listened to his album all the time and this was by far my favorite song. Now I can't listen to it without crying because it refers to the love of a father and it brings me back to early mornings in my Grandma's kitchen when it would usually be my Grandma, dad, and I making coffee and listening to this album before the rest of the house woke up.

I'm thankful for memories like this that last forever.

    Happy September Everyone!

I started a new workout routine and today my workout took just under 40 minutes include the warm-up and cool down. That is a dream come true and I could get used to it.

In August I only read 1 book that entire month! That's unheard of for me. The last time that I only read 1 book in an entire month was in July of 2021. I think the grief made my mind a little foggy and it was hard for me to stay focused. This month I'm hoping to get back into reading and studying again.

I also set a goal on my birthday to practice a daily skill. This year's skill is a daily inversion and so far I've been able to do it. I'm prepared to count "child's pose" and "legs up the wall" if necessary, but I'd like to do more handstands, elbow stands, and arm balances if possible.

How was your month of August and what are you looking forward to this September?

August is when my Mom passed, 3 years ago. Toughest Norwegian ever! This is 3 years complete now doing Jiu-Jitsu. Funny timing. Lol.

RIP to your Mom and happy 3 years of doing Jiu-Jitsu! I'm sorry about your loss. I think your mom would be super proud of you and everything that you're doing!

    Happy Tuesday!

Yesterday was leg day: Bulgarian split squats & Romanian Deadlifts.
Today was Push / Pull: parallette push-ups, single arm rows with a 3 second hold, & 1 minute plank.

Today's workout took just 24 minutes with the warm-up and cool down. Is it really possible that I could still get results from this style of training? I'm excited to see what happens. I also practiced my dance drills and did yoga. For September, I want to get better at spins, but the problem is that I get dizzy and sometimes motion sickness.

Hope you are all having a wonderful day today!

Thank you. I’m sure you’re correct.
I missed class Monday due to camping and unfortunately I’ll miss Friday too. My SIL graduates from power line school and we’re leaving early in the morning to go to that. My buddy leg-locked me twice in class yesterday but I smashed the $h@t out of him in return. Lol. Lots of fun and the best part is, all done by 6 AM!! Nobody screws with people that screwy! Lol.

I think camping is a great reason to miss class. Congrats to your SIL on graduating. It sounds like he's following in your foot steps? Will you do the electric slide to celebrate? Lol.
It must feel great to accomplish so much before 6 AM.

Today was day #3 of this program and I did arnold presses, DB skull crushers, and DB curls.
The top of my right foot has been sore since I woke up this morning so I'm taking it easy, but still plan on practicing some drills and doing some gentle yoga tonight.

Yesterday was leg day: Bulgarian Split Squats and RDL's.
Today we're back to Push/Pull Day: Parallette Push-ups, Single-Arm Dumbbell Rows, and Plank holds.
I really love the structure of this program. It's nice to have shorter workouts and I feel like I can challenge myself more weight-wise rather than conserving and worrying about "running out of steam."
I'm getting ready to start my workout now. Hope you will all have a wonderful weekend!

Picking and shelling black beans before bed has become my meditation and I think these tasks have saved me from slipping into depression. It's those little simple tasks that can become the richest, simple gifts.

I can do 13 unassisted chin ups now! I couldn't do that before.

Still doing my workouts, but motivation and focus hasn't been that solid this week...
A few days ago I got 2X10 yard deliveries of cinder soil and have been spending 7 plus hours a day shoveling soil and building hugelkultur style beds.

I'm getting ready to do my push/pull workout in a few minutes.
Hope you are all doing well!

Thank you so much! They are still underhanded and someday I'd like to be able to do the overhand ones too. One step at a time, I guess.
