Secret Service Dismantles Weaponized SIM Farms Designed To "Shut Down" NYC Cell Networks | ZeroHedge

    Two points struck me

    1. Non-State and State actors (China? They don't say)

    2. Allows encrypted comma

Odd note in story - the server farms were located in "abandoned apartment buildings" 35 miles out side of NYC. Seems these properties still have electric service.. how odd. So - I'll wait and see what bubbles u up over the next month or so.

    Drug ring enterprise?

the satellites used in communications won't last very long in any major conflict >>> they've had ground based missiles capable of shredding them for decades now - the ground based lazers are getting better all the time - the US has fighters capable of high altitude launch of regular missiles and taking out satellites ......

if it's a nuke war from the start - they'll be gone in the first blast ......

doesn't mean you shouldn't have an old cell phone in your Faraday cage cache - might not be able to make or receive calls - but good chance the FED would tie into the service and make info announcements ......

If you wanted to cripple an election....you call up the Israeli experts since they pretty much run all datacoms for the U.S. and I don't know, appropriate a little funding, start up this little SIM venture.

China could have just as easily done it. What matters now is, who is going to be in charge of covering this up? ;)

I use mine mostly to make phone calls (and then turn it off) and take photos. I take photos of family, my cat, farm equipment that I'm working on, etc. It makes trips to the hardware store so much easier.

Yeah, I caught this also. More than weird. They said nothing... I mean, for something like this we definitely are talking state actors, this isn't no whacko Leftist, especially given the cost and number of them and it does take some technical expertise. Iran? China? And, why place something like this unless you were going to use it soon...so when and during what, an election, a speaker, a convention? Frankly, my first impression, it is to support a staged mass terrorist attack.

I think this is being decided to be a nationwide plot and a very big one!

This I find very interesting. Today I have noticed slower than normal internet speeds, 2 vendors I couldn't email because their DNS servers weren't working, long ping times across our fiber paths between facilities, and random disconnects on cell phones among several of us at the station today. I am beginning to wonder if an internet attack is coming.

My real worry is this is just one node of a very large and wide area network setup to cause....mischief.

It would stand to reason that if you were truly going to try some sort of coup or massive, MASSIVE terrorist attack, something that makes 9/11 look small, then you would have not one but numerous nodes across the country.

You know, Shawn Ryan had a retired CIA analyst, she's very famous, on his show a couple months back and she said they know there are more than a thousand terrorists that came in during the open borders and while there is a lot of chatter, they still do not know what they are planning. I will try to look that one up. She really was good. I wonder if this ties in...

NOTE: My guess is a terrorist attack. A coup by the Left while Trump holds all the government cards seems too great a risk, but they obviously still have a lot of people in power, just look at all these judges, and they are desperate so...

Tempstar, Please let us know if it hasn't cleared up in a couple of days or if you run across some of the same things. The thing is, they would only test it a bit, not at full potential, then turn it off until it is showtime. Two DNS servers down for 2 vendors at the same time is very weird, unless they are getting updates from the same push. I would think taking the internet and mobile comms down would be a huge force multiplier to any attack then if you could locally jam radios - well - you're golden.

We've been aware of this possibility for a long time now. And if we know, then the top analysts certainly know, too. The whole open borders scandal will continue to be a serious problem for many years to come because the fallout will take a toll. There were times when armed militant soldiers were coming across the border through the hills and the feds weren't just watching them, but running interference so concerned citizens couldn't intercede. They've had enough time to have strong cells across the entire nation, waiting patiently to attack. They are well funded, protected, armed, and fully trained.

No DNS issues today, but AT&T fiber speed tests were all over the place, and I had a few "0.0" mbs up speeds and sometimes very slow down speeds as well. We have GB fiber dedicated tunnels so random data collisions with no-corporate traffic should be off the table. It could be just AT&T fiddling around or something else. Just weird that it shows up on the heels of the NY discovery.

These are very good physical layer tools to have.

I use an SNMP program one of our engineers wrote to see actual traffic at the device. Sometimes it's lost packets, sometimes it's overload by forward error correction, and sometimes it's on the wire (fiber) carrier, which I can't see into their gear. The past few days the problem has been external.

A bit more information on this... The scope of this is HUGE (and still could be) as was/is its capabilities. My fear is that this wasn't the only one... Have a listen of the amount of gear they recovered as that alone will freak you out. No doubt in my mind this came in via diplomatic pouches...
