    GPS Competency Test
<HR style="COLOR: #ffffff" SIZE=1><!-- / icon and title --><!-- message -->OK folks this is an easy one. It can be done from home, but is more fun at remote locations. This is best done by phone.
    1. Call your partner and give them the coordinates of where you are standing.
    2. Enter your partner's coordinates into your GPS and tell them where they are.
Sounds simple right? Most the people hunting in my group last year could not do both steps.

So if I'm in the woods and broke my leg, how are you going to find me? [IMG]

    Give it a try!

I wouldnt be able to since the only GPS I have or have ever realy messed with is the Garmin in my truck that dont do anything other than give directions by road. I suppose I may get one at some point.

I don't have one either. :) But I am pretty darn good with a map and compass. [beer]

That is one set of batteries you don't need to carry. [winkthumb] The quality of maps is much better now than it was when I was orienteering. [boozingbuddies]
