Mine would drop us off at the movies Saturday morning

 

It may be a joke, but when I was a kid in the 80's I bit into a snickers bar to find a sewing needle. It was just before Halloween and all candy at the store we got the bag from was removed from the shelves and x-rayed, more needles were found.
This was one of those "bite size" snickers bars, so I could have easily put the entire thing in my mouth and had that needle jab somewhere in my mouth. That didn't happen, thankfully.

 

WhenI was kid in the 50's we never worried about stuff put in candy. How are society is now filed with sick people----

 

I miss those heady days of my youth in the 1960s/early 1970s when we kids never feared guns, drugs, pedos, and other assorted dangers today's kids have to deal with. We could just enjoy being kids.

 

There are loads of veteran's around here and nobody parks there.
I always figure I'm saving the spot for some old veteran who needs to park
closer to the door. I guess lots of us feel that way.

 

When my Sister had her horse, she didn't ride in the woods during hunting season. She was sure some moron would shoot her horse claiming "that black and white deer was wearing a saddle!". Knowing a few of those gun-toting morons, I understood completely. I knew idiots who would shoot at sounds behind a bush!

 

I ran into an old friend years ago who I hadn't seen out to the range for a while. He said he'd been shooting at the hunt club range. Biggest problem he had was keeping other members from target shooting in unsafe areas. He said he had to correct a member who was shooting down a road, with no back-stop, and onto property that the club didn't own. Next day he comes in the gate and sees a shattered tree by the side of the road into the club property. Same guy, now shooting down the road toward the gate. I thought I might be interested in joining the club until I heard that story.

I have a friend who's son was killed by a neighbor shooting an SKS through a brush pile more than 100 yards away. Bullets tore through the SUV where the child was strapped in a car seat.
