As the guy said, the implications could be far reaching, years past the current administration. What we need are cut and dried policies that define what a terrorist organization is and what constitutes an individual terrorist, vetted by a supreme court decision. Otherwise, When the other side gets back into power they could say anyone with Tannerite is a terrorist and the NRA is a terrorist organization. Even though it's Trump doing it right now, we gotta get away from the Gov making up rules as they go. It's a damn slippery slope. Just like BATF making their decisions about gun stuff without any kind of law being passed, it needs to stop. If we are to be a nation laws, then we should embrace that with both arms and quit allowing BATF, Trump, Congress,Senate, and Federal judges to make anything 'punishable' that isn't voted on by both houses and signed into law. Period.

 

Yes, it does make one think, "The road to hell is paved with good intentions." Nevertheless, after listening to all those independent reporters today talk about Antifa - well - they and others like them, are a 'clear and present danger' and must be blown apart and the high-end money people as well as the low-end muscle must swing together. Make examples out of them. Hit them all with heavy sentences. Plus, the foreigners that fund them, should be labeled as 'funding terrorism,' warrants issued for their arrest and rewards placed on apprehending them. Get our friendly nations to back us making life hell for them.

Having said that...We can be sure that the next Leftist president will definitely call the Tea Party or even the Libertarians terrorists but one problem at a time and we'll deal with it if and/or when it happens...

Frankly, I was speechless listening to these independent reporters talking today at the White House. Things are much worse than I thought...and I thought they were pretty bad. I knew these guys were bad, but I didn't know even half of it.

EDIT: Look, we really don't have a choice as these SOBs must be stopped and stopped now, dead in their tracks, never to rise again and that means why Trump is in office because we have no idea what will happen when he leaves. This is a risk that we must take...we simply do not have a choice.

 

History would likely indicate the pendulum will swing right, probably too far.. before it settles where it should be.... in the middle.

Best to continue getting self sufficient, be less grid dependent, and not live where all this drama will play out..

I don't disagree at all, BUT!
We are a nation of laws, BUT, those laws have been corrupted so far that we have a two tiered justice system now, combined with a political party that picks and chooses who to prosecute and who to set free, and they refuse to follow the laws we have in favor of feelings or Fear, and that's how we got here where we are actually going to do something so extreme that the party of chaos cannot counter with laws courts judges, ect. Nope, we got here because one group of people took absolute power and abused the hell out of the rest of this country for more then 4 years!

Everything Trump is doing in 100% legal and By the Book, and this is not the first time the Innsurection act of 1807 has been employed, in fact that has been declared a total of 33 times in the past, including the most recent under George Bush Jr. So it's time to get to work and get rid of these assholes once and for all!

If this was such a threat to our democracy that we would fear it's use after Trump leaves office, that would have surely happened during Obummer and later under Biden, the fact that the two most evil people in earth at the time didn't use it tells you just how much they fear it, as they should! They didn't use it for Jan.6th, didn't use it to beat the repubs to death with it, nor did they go after the common man with it, nope, they know exactly what using that means, so they held short, but not Trump!

I would like to see a much MORE aggressive approach. Designating Antifa as a Foreign Terrorist Organisation like Al Qaeda unlocking far more govt capabilities (including financial) and foreign cooperation.

I don't care about pendulums swinging. Some parts of the US have been Democrat one-party states for several decades or more than a century, yet nobody ever mentions pendulums in these situations...

 

Now, I don't disagree that we need to do something about these crazies, and I'm not saying we shouldn't. I think we ought to be going harder than we are, tbh.

But I also have to wonder what happens after the definition of "domestic terrorism" gets broadened and then the pendulum swings back the other way. We've all been called terrorists just for believing in freedom and Jesus. Imagine what the left could do with broadened domestic terror powers if/when they get back in charge.

Seems to me like if we just enforced the law we already have we could round most of them up and put them in a deep dark hole they'd never get out of, because 3/4 of what they do is already against the law anyway. But maybe I am full of crap, I dunno.

Don't get me wrong. I'm glad things are going the direction they are rather than not. But I don't trust the government. Either so-called side. At least half the so-called 'conservatives' in government are just the other side of the same corrupt coin.

This is a valid point and one that is missed in Trump's plan to restore order to the country. These lawless cities and states must understand they are not independent nation states and this is exactly what they are being shown while also cleaning up crime and rounding up illegals. This must be done. There are no options here if we want 'rule of law' back in our country.

I am not sure how many watched that roundtable with all those independent reporters and Trump, but it was made clear that these groups are indeed domestic terrorists and, in many cases, even getting funds outside the United States. What the hell are we supposed to do? Simply do nothing because they might call us terrorists in the future! Honestly? They have already called us deplorables, trash, and white supremacists and, as @oil pan 4 pointed out, the NRA has already been called a terrorist organization for years.

Besides, does ANYONE seriously believe that should the Left gain power again, in strength as before, that they will leave any stone unturned to ruin all of the Right, all of us...you and me? This is a fight to the finish, only one remains standing...and if they do assume power in strength again you can be damn sure that power will drop on us like a ton of bricks and there will be no 'due process' under the law or 'rights under the constitution' or 'equal under the law'...ask the January 6th crowd about all that...
