Motivational Poster Thread (warning content)

Lawn darts in the legs, ramp jumps for our bikes, playing tackle football in street cloths we had fun and lived to tell about it. So kids of today what did you do ---we sat on the couch and played video games. What a great life you can tell your kids about

 

You should have played more dodge ball ,, you could have moved fast enough to dodge that dart ,,,

 

Kids today watch adventures on their mobile devices. In our day we LIVED those adventures.

 

I remember riding bikes with cards in the spokes.
We had a favorite spot where the road cut through a hilltop. We could ride around to get on top of the high side and get enough momentum going to shoot across the road and make it up a trail between the trees on the other side without having to pedal at all. Somebody would yell "car!" if there was any traffic coming. Above the road between the trees we were all but invisible.

In the fall we would poke an air hole in the bottom of a soup can packed with dried leaves, and with a coat hanger handle we'd let the wind blow a tiny spark into a smoking and eventually flaming inferno as we pedaled. That was fun!

 

We payed dodge ball --helped a little

 

With closed military bases, 30K would build a small house and there would be no homeless vets

 

I can still remember the smell of them. But even as a young kid, I never thought of trying to eat one.

 

Well, that sucks.
