In 2005, Michael A. Smith, a U.S. Navy veteran, was arrested for disorderly conduct in Kansas City, Missouri, after he spat chewing tobacco in Fonda's face during a book-signing event for her autobiography, My Life So Far. He told reporters that he "consider[ed] it a debt of honor", adding "she spit in our faces for 37 years. It was absolutely worth it. There are a lot of veterans who would love to do what I did."
To her credit - Fonda refused to press charges.

I was in the Nellis BX when the store put up a bunch of "Jane Fonda exercise" video's. Walked over to the manage and brought this to her attention She shook her head and asked what did I have a problem with...
I told her that if one the old-head 474th TFW were to come in - they might just throw
everything on the floor and stomp the product to bits. She had no idea of "Hanoi Jane"
Happily, everything was removed before the big lunch hour rush....

So while every Vet of a certain age still harbors a seething rage over this bitch ,l she still stealing O2 from the rest of us.
