My first weapon in 1996 was a Mossberg 590A1 love that shotgun and still have it today's and it's been 100% reliable. That's been a few years. During the early 2010 I was not able to pick up a sweet Russian 12 ga. Yet I had hope for the F12 from Typhoon arms I believe I could be wrong. It was a 12 ga semi auto that was an enlarged AR-15 it was popular in England. Yet today I can't find any of there weapons for sale. So other then buying a Sagia 12 GA and spending more on that then several 12 ga pumps is there another semi auto magazine feed 12 ga out there that is reliable? In 2005 I was able to use the AA-12 on the Marines I wish I could have one of them! Nothing like full auto 00 buckshot 20 round magazine with almost zero recoil! You could shoot slugs with one hand full auto it took two.
Beretta 1301 or A300, Benelli m4, saiga 12 basically eat anything. Winchester, Remington, Browning, and others make fine hunting 12 gauge autoloaders
Yet only one is magazine feed! I want a magazine feed shotgun I'm not looking to hunt birds I'm looking to hunt hogs or humans. Edited to add no disrespect to the poster at all!
Blackgrub. I'm going to tell you right now, Saiga 12 with an extended mag is freaking useless as it hangs out and really throws off the center of gravity and manuverability. I'd really consider taking another look at say an A300 with an extended magazine tube. That sucker will hold 10 rounds of 2.75inch slugs. Seriously, if what ever you are shooting at takes more than 10 rounds to stop .. ya might want to be using an AR15 carbine. JMHO. Anyway, even if you got a drum and moved the ammo closer to the receiver .. it's still going to feel clumsy trying to manipulate.
Probably pigs. You shoot one and the rest might try to fight you. Seen one get hit by a vehicle and the other ones will try and fight passing traffic. And they can be big. I saw what I thought was a dead cow next to the road last night near Vernon tx, nope it was a very large hog. I recommend the S12. The ismash saiga 12 can't be imported any more last time last time I checked. But the Ismash company made a division inside the US called kolasnakof USA and they make 100% made in USA AKs. Mine is a dirty Russian made one. Thank Obama for more, better US made AK pattern guns...
Just curious if there is a specific reason you are after a magazine/drum fed auto loader vs. a tube fed version?
the old venerable Rem 1100s feed flawlessly even with the extended 10 round magazines - heavier than hell - forward tripod and prone position helps with slug accuracy >>> definitely need to watch the heat build up - takes longer to cool down than a reload ....
Yeah, the Remington 870 and 1100, will both take the same 10 round tubular magazine extensions, and if that don't kill it try a Claymore Mine or two!
I'm thinking Mossberg for pumps, like that sweet 590A1 that you own, or Beretta for semi-autos. Yeah, I know all about the Benelli, but I believe it is waaaay overpriced and Beretta's 1301 has passed it in ergonomics, reliable, and maintenance. I've never seen the AA-12 but don't think I would be interested in a fully automatic shotgun. All-in-all, I would buy a Beretta 1301 in a heartbeat and if you had ever picked one up then you know why. However, I simply cannot justify the expense of one so if I do purchase a shotgun in the near future, it probably will be a pump, most likely a Mossberg, less expensive and will get the job done.
I have a JTS. First 25 rounds I was ready to chunk it in a creek. Now it has worn in and works great. Less than $300 on sale at PSA. BTW, a 10 round 12 gauge mag is Yuuuge!
Yeah man, couple boxes to knock the burrs down and it will run, I've shot skeet as a joke with one, Surprised to break clays but it did!
As someone who carried a shotgun for a living in some of the nastiest places on earth, I can tell you, a mag fed blaster is about as useless as it gets! The whole idea is the rapid change of shot from one type to another, SHOT to SLUG, to FRAG, to DUSTER, to CABLE in as little time as possible! There are lots of very good options, but only a couple really work well across the board, today, I would choose a Mossberg 940JM Pro Tactical with extended mag tube and ghost ring rifle sights, second would be a Benelli Super Black Eagle Tactical, third would be the Remington Versa-Max Tactical, and lastly, and my Fav, the OI Winchester Super X2 Tactical! All that cool guy, tacti-cool crap including detachable mags are flat out USELESS, all that crap can and will fail,, and lost mags mean you now have a single shot, and pistol grips are nothing but wrist brakers and snag hazards!
Well, I said I had a JTS as a playtoy. If I really need a shit kicker I grab my 870 Marine Magnum with the extended mag, ghost rings, and Volquartsen extractor.
