Crap, I'm old.

 

She was always the one I wanted to be stuck on an island with. A nice Kansas farm girl. Practical and useful.

 

As an old Native Floridian, I can attest to having seen gators off the shore of... "Alligator Point". In the Gulf.
And the are sharks that come into the rivers occasionally. You ain't safe ANYWHERE!

 

Been there, done that. Too many times.

While they may be illegal in California (and stolen), 8 long-guns, 4 handguns and 10,000 rounds of ammo do not an arsenal make. That sheriff should visit Alabama someday, folks around here have that many guns in their truck.

 

I've done quite a bit of work on Oak Island,, NC,, and there's quite a few alligators around ,, and off the island. There's a few ponds around the Golf course ,, a gators in the roadside ditches and waterways .
Talked with a Game Warden about gators on the beach. He said gators will actually seek out salt water to swim and soak ,, that actually helps clean the scales from the dirt and grit that builds up in between and under their scales .
