Yep, that was my life as a youngster. I started as Dad's "helper" holding flashlights and grabbing tools. Soon graduated to doing the simpler jobs. At about 16, I stripped and rebuilt the motor of our first lawn tractor, and was doing my own maintenance on my Honda motorcycle. I learned auto mechanics, carpentry, cement work, painting, plumbing, home electrical. Dad was a big believer in "DIY". The Scotty's Hardware store and later Lowes & Home Depot were my playground. Very different times.

 

I was always leery of those ball cleaners at the golf course too. Besides they were too high.

 

I hated the ending of that movie!

 

Only thing worse than building a fence was ....I can think of anything worse! Even clearing fencerows was better!

 

Yep, and I remember when Crack Jacks had a cool prize in the box.
