Did you hear about the stolen wig? Police are combing the area. I'm torn. Not literally. That would be unfortunate. I mean I'm torn between the Ruger LC Carbine in 10mm and the same gun in .45 acp. On the one hand, I've got tons of .45acp ammo 'cause I dun bought a mess when I got my Sig P220 Legion, which I aim to take shootin' tomorrow. So there's that. On the other hand, in discussions I've read or watched on YouTube, there is a great deal of excitement about the 10mm, people generally emphasize the velocity and range, among other things. I am intrigued by the 10mm because I don't own a gun in this caliber and am curious as heck about it. I suppose I could see if my local range has both in stock and rent them for an hour, see which I like more. My purpose is mainly home defense, although developing some marksmanship at the range would be cool, too.
I am a big fan of .45 ACP, as I have long owned my Colt M1991A1 pistol and love it. But as the purpose of a carbine is to give a considerably longer effective range, I'd go with the 10mm. It shoots at higher velocity and with a flatter trajectory, perfect for a carbine. The small case diameter might translate to another round or two in a magazine too. But of course, you might have different needs from me, so you make your own choice.
