I see trees, so I would be good!

 

Reminds me of a drive home from Greenville one night when I was a little too well hydrated and needed to find a nice tree. That Woman was driving, and even though we're driving along in the early evening on a rural two-lane road, she made multiple stops "for me" right in front of the next farmhouse with all the lights on. One after another.

And she wonders why I pull ahead every time she reaches for the door handle.

 

My hunt for a "five calendar restaurant" is being hampered by the demise of print advertising and calendars specifically.

Mary's Kountry Kitchen in town was a solid 4. I remember the chalkboard side dish menu, and if something said it came with a cake, it wasn't a slice, or a cupcake, you got a whole dinner plate size cake, tall as your glass of sweet tea, with frosting on it.

I think Duff's Cafe in Beulaville, NC could be a four as well, but they serve coffee in Styrofoam cups. That's just wrong, in a place that gets everything else so right.

There have been other fine dining experiences. One of the most memorable was saved by a Dad who gave his little boy a much needed swat on the behind. My friend let "Thank you..." slip out.

I know there's a five calendar restaurant out there.

Maybe...some day...
