I just ordered him some new harnesses, and had to figure his size by weight. He's sixteen pounds!

That means he has cousins that must be pushing thirty pounds. He's just average size compared to his big cousins. I need to put those chubs on a scale and see what they weigh. Benny will be easy, he's a marshmallow. Jinx might fuss and try to bite me, but he's toothless, so that's not a big concern.

 

Coleman has his head out the car window and he was just staring and sniffing. "Smell that, Dad?... That's home!"

 

They always know when you're nearing home. My Dad's last two dogs, a male Yellow Lab and his Black Lab little sister, memorised the turns. We took them in the van with us to hardware stores and Walmart. As we neared home I could tell they perked up and were counting the turns. They knew. They knew the way to the vet too, which elicited a different reaction from them.
