Trailblazer Firearms Lifecard

22short are being favored by me.
Straight outta the box the hollow points don't want to expand. It seems during manufacturing the nose of the bullet gets dented up.
Opening them up with a nail tip or an X from a razor blade makes them pop a milk jug and then lodge into a few layers of cardboard.
You may prefer 22short round nose, ball ammo.
22short ball ammo punches straight through 2 milk jugs and my 16 layer cardboard bullet catch I use for rimfire tests.
The handgrip magazine holds six 22shorts or CB rounds.

My lifecard chrnos at 860fps to 930fps with cci hollow points over 7 shots.

 

Tried the lifecard with a bowers bitty on it. Its not as quiet as the 6 inch long cone baffle silencer but it works pretty good.
Good enough for pest elimination.
I put the 6 inch long cone baffle one back on my semiautomatic pistol where it belongs, where I'm prioritizing quietness.
I'm thinking the bowers bitty is a great match for when you want to go as small as possible or if you already have a fairly quiet 22 setup and want to make it quiter, like a 18 inch plus barrel firing subsonics.
I'm thinking on a 22 pistol firing full power LR ammo it will be meh.
Edit: it's already on a pistol duha. All I needed to do was pop in a silvertip and bang. Its kinda loud. Its about as loud as my monocore gm22.

 

Tested mine out with Remington CBee. Meh.
Also Tested with cci 22long. Its basically a hotter 22short RN.
I say stick with short or LR.
Im sticking with cci 22short HP.
A modified Remington CBee with a smidgen of nitro100 might be interesting.
Go too hot with something like cci stinger or Winchester hyper velocity 40gr HP at 1,430fps and cases get stuck.

 

New information from Trailblazer Firearms! I've been waiting for something like this for years, so I ordered one immediately. Take a look at these:

 

I would avoid putting sights on it, as the whole purpose is to NOT look like a handgun. And it's really intended for "up close & personal", basically a "belly buster". Overall, a good idea for a last-ditch defensive firearm. Like a modern take on the old WWII Liberator pistol.

 

I thought they were going to make a 380/9mm like years ago.
I'll take one with a threaded barrel.

It would be interesting to try it with the Aguila SSS (Sniper Sub Sonic) - the big 60 grain bullet at subsonic velocity, makes quite a nice "thump" when it hits and is pretty quiet. Excellent "whompability" on small vermin.

 

I still kinda like my Beretta 21a

 

I only have like 150 of those left i guess I should try it.

 

Well Lads, I said I'd keep you updated; I just picked up my new Lifecard 380. Here's some pics:









I'll post more after I shoot it this weekend. The only thing I have to say is that, yes, it is bigger and thicker than the Lifecard 22. It is still nice and smooth when opening the action ans the barrel is spring loaded this time. The backstrap is rounded now, and definitely more comfortable in the hand.

 

I only got to shoot two dozen rounds before the skies opened up and started pouring rain, ending my range session. Some thoughts: recoil with same rounds (95gr fmj handloads that are the equivalent of Winchester White Box) are heavier out of a Walther PPK/S than this little single shot pistol.



The sights that were part of the package are easy to see but not adjustable- this particular pistol shoots with a LOW 6 o'clock hold. I'm looking at one of my older SeeAll sight with an integral pic rail mount, and see if it will fit on the little grooves on the barrel... I just have to dig it out of deep storage somewhere (I forgot where I put it). I think that would be an ideal solution for this little thing.

 

Did they fly straight?

 

Yes, I was just trying to get a feel for where it was hitting, by using the fixed sights. I was starting to see a pattern when the winds picked up and the rain started. I'll get back into next weekend, unless the weather keeps me from it again.

 

Sweet hope they make a threaded barrel one.
