    Zimmy Wait, I'm not ready!

As a man with estranged family, I will freely give you advice (which I do not follow well) to reach out now while they are still around.

Yes, this is good advice. I just need to figure out how to communicate and not feel attacked. I'm considering writing a hand written letter... I've tried so many times to have relationships with them, but they get really offended when I try to set reasonable boundaries. The gossip is also so toxic... I'll have to pray about this more.

Happy August Everyone! It's my birthday month and I feel so thankful for everything. I did my total body workout followed by a 3 mile jog. Yesterday we went for a hike and it was so peaceful and serene. Hope you are all having a wonderful weekend!

Great job! Lawn mowing is my favorite way to get lots of steps. If it's a riding lawnmower, I guess you're still covering ground. Lol.

I was on the struggle bus today...

This is the beginning of week #10/10! My left shoulder / chest connection area has been sore during this phase because it's my weaker side and I've been doing pull ups twice a week. This happened last summer too when I was doing this same training program except last summer my rotator cuff was injured and I had to modify my workouts all summer. In a way, this is progress, because I wasn't so injured that I had to fully modify the exercises.

I went for a 20 minute jog then a short dance session.

    Here is my shimmy progress.

What are you working on this week?

I made all 3 classes this week and taught one. Lots of good techniques learned and some nasty rolls with my teammates.

I have 1 workout left in this 10 week training program that I've been working through!

    Yesterday I wanted to quit...

I feel worn out mentally and physically and this was a stressful chapter in my life, but I'm proud of the fact that I stuck with it through the highs and lows and made adjustments when necessary. It feels good to finish what you start.

I was a little discouraged because I gained a little weight and my measurements stayed stable through these last 3 months... Today when I looked at my pictures and a recording I took of my dance drills, I realized that I have built a lot of muscle tone that wasn't there before. I also feel a lot stronger.

I'm thankful that I stayed mostly uninjured too, although, my left shoulder has been bothering me, but it's from use more than anything else. Haven't decided if I want to power through that last workout tonight or get it done tomorrow...

Hope you'll have a wonderful weekend!

    Zimmy Wait, I'm not ready!

I have access to a pool and hot tub now so I am doing 20 minutes of steady swimming, then 15 minutes in the hot tub sweatingout the evil, then 30 minutes trying to figure out water aerobics.

I'm still walking 13k per day

Tuesday was self-defense class number 2. I feel like I did much better this time, I wasn’t so nervous. Lol.

It's amazing that you have pool and jacuzzi access and are making use of it! I'm jealous because the closest pool to me is now 45 minutes away...
I used to be a swimmer, usa swim coach and I taught water aerobics too. Let me know how you like it!
13,000 steps is amazing too. I'm so proud of you for reaching this point in your healing and recovery. Keep up the amazing work!!!

I'm enjoying this deload and have had to actively pull back on my own reins and resist the desire to push myself.

Historically, weird and random injuries have popped up during my recovery weeks and this time around I'm trying to be a lot more mindful and actually pay attention to my body. It takes practice.

I love jogging and it has been so great for my mental health.

Ugh, we are currently on extreme hurricane watch and lava watch. Thankfully I feel more prepared than I ever have. It's nice to live on a property that doesn't have skyscrapers for trees and I love going outside and not hearing the squeaks and creaks of dying trees. I was always prepared to run for my life.

I'm expecting a power outage and am thankful for my off-grid infrastructrue. God bless people like @Meat and the power companies.

Stay safe everyone! Oh, I also got my 1 year anniversary notice here on Survival Monkey. I'm so glad that I didn't fully disappear. Thank you for keeping this amazing thread going while I was laying low.

Still laying low online, but love being here.

Happy Friday everyone! I have all of my water and emergency supplies ready to go. I hope things won't be too bad. I did a short and easy strength training workout that took me about 42 minutes with mobility and stretching. Listening to the wind blowing and enjoying the night.
Hope you will all have a wonderful weekend!

If Hurricane Lala was a category 1 storm then I'm concerned about future cat 2, 3, 4 storms in the future. A hot spot, solar panels, and generator are making this experience a lot more comfortable. Yesterday, it said that power could be restored by the 17th, but it's more likely that it could take weeks since they have to bring in people from the mainland to fix the power issues.

We got hit with 75 mph sustained winds. It was intense, but also fun.

I love that the drought and water supply issues aren't issues right now.

Hope you are all having a wonderful weekend!
