Motivational Poster Thread (warning content)

Was on the college speech team in 1978. We got a bit of support from student activities funds. The school paid for the motel rooms and fuel for the state owned cars (think Plymouth Valiants), plus we each got $8 (or was it $6) per day for food. We'd usually get McDs for breakfast and if we had lunch, and save up for a nice meal somewhere on Saturday night. I remember getting a salmon dinner once (because a bone got stuck way down in my throat), all on that $8/day.

 

But to put things in perspective, here in Florida the minimum wage was only two bucks an hour in 1974, a bit less for agricultural workers. You had to work longer to afford that meal.
