    <hr style="color: rgb(145, 155, 156); background-color: rgb(145, 155, 156);" size="1"> <!-- / icon and title --> <!-- message --> This 'Letter of Apology' was written by Lieutenant General Chuck Pitman, US Marine Corps, Retired:

For good and ill, the Iraqi prisoner abuse mess will remain an issue. On the one hand, right thinking Americans will abhor the stupidity of the actions while on the other hand, political glee will take control and fashion this minor event into some modern day massacre.

I humbly offer my opinion here:

I am sorry that the last seven times we Americans took up arms and sacrificed the blood of our youth; it was in the defense of Muslims ( Bosnia , Kosovo, Gulf War 1, Kuwait , etc.)

I am sorry that no such call for an apology upon the extremists came after 9/11.

I am sorry that all of the murderers on 9/11 were Islamic Arabs.

I am sorry that most Arabs and Muslims have to live in squalor under savage dictatorships.

I am sorry that their leaders squander their wealth.

I am sorry that their governments breed hate for the US in their religious schools, mosques, and government-controlled media.

I am sorry that Yasser Arafat was kicked out of every Arab country and high-jacked the Palestinian 'cause.'

I am sorry that no other Arab country will take in or offer more than a token amount of financial help to those same Palestinians.

I am sorry that the U. S. A. has to step in and be the biggest financial supporter of poverty stricken Arabs while the insanely wealthy Arabs blame the USA for all their problems.

I am sorry that our own left wing, our media, and our own brainwashed liberal masses do not understand any of this (from the misleading vocal elements of our society like radical liberal professors, CNN and the NY TIMES).

I am sorry the United Nations scammed the poor people of Iraq out of the 'food for oil' money so they could get rich while the common folk suffered.

I am sorry that some Arab governments pay the families of homicide bombers upon their death

I am sorry that those same bombers are brainwashed thinking they will receive 72 virgins in 'paradise.'

I am sorry that the homicide bombers think pregnant women, babies, children, the elderly and other noncombatant civilians are legitimate targets.

I am sorry that our troops die to free more Arabs from the gang rape rooms and the filling of mass graves of dissidents of their own making.

I am sorry that Muslim extremists have killed more Arabs than any other group.

I am sorry that foreign trained terrorists are trying to seize control of Iraq and return it to a terrorist state.

I am sorry we don't drop a few dozen Daisy cutters on Fallujah.

I am sorry every time terrorists hide they find a convenient 'Holy Site.'

I am sorry they didn't apologize for driving a jet into the World Trade Center that collapsed and severely damaged Saint Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church - one of our Holy Sites.

I am sorry they didn't apologize for flight 93 and 175, the USS Cole, the embassy bombings, the murders and beheadings of Nick Berg and Daniel Pearl, etc....etc!

I am sorry Michael Moore is American; he could feed a medium sized village in Africa .

America will get past this latest absurdity. We will punish those responsible because that is what we do.

I am sorry the Barack Hussein Obama may be elected president of the United States when he doesn't have a clue on how to be a strong Commander-in-chief in a world filled with Muslim extremists who will do whatever it needs to do to destroy the lives of civilized people while killing innocent men, women and children in order to bring a change that is beneficial to all Islamic terrorists worldwide.

I am sorry that voters on the liberal left don't understand the frightening changes that are taking place

in the Muslim world and what these changes will do to this world in which we live.

I am sorry that the Democratic Party has been highjacked by Socialists and Communists right under the very noses of those who take pride in calling themselves democrats.

We hang out our dirty laundry for the entire world to see. We move on. That's one of the reasons we are hated so much. We don't hide this stuff like all those Arab countries that are now demanding an apology.

Deep down inside, when most Americans saw this reported in the news, we were like - so what? We lost hundreds and made fun of a few prisoners. Sure, it was wrong, sure, it dramatically hurts our cause, but until captured we were trying to kill these same prisoners. Now we're supposed to wring our hands because a few were humiliated?

Our compassion is tempered with the vivid memories of our own people killed, mutilated and burnt amongst a joyous crowd of celebrating Fallujahans.

If you want an apology from this American, you're going to have a long wait! You have a better chance of finding those seventy-two virgins.

    all valid positions...

    Letter to my(our) children,

I'm sorry the President of the United State took it upon himself to change the form of government we have.

I'm sorry no member of congress stood up and fulfilled hisduty as a constitutional check to protect the American people.

I'm sorry we spent some 9 trillion dollars of your future earnings on jet fuel, boots, bullets ,cctv cameras ands secret tribunals. All while leaving our borders wide open...

I'm sorry it was financially expedient to have all our products manufactured outside the country, leaving fewer employment opportunities for blue collar workers to make an honest living..

I'm Sorry to the marine(and his family) I saw on tv with stumps and metal prosthesis where both legs a
nd one arm used to be attached.
Because we dicked around with unclear murky objectives, less than adequate equipment, planning and substituted patriotic slogans instead of using the full might of his brothers in arms:

(I'm sorry we didn't fly planes into fallujah, release their weapons and return day and night so that marine and his brothers in arms would not have had to kick-in every booby trapped outhouse door..)

I 'm sorry You are considered a threat to your government in your everyday lives, and that there's contracted private security officers down the block intercepting your conversations...

I'm sorry you no can longer freely experience the freedom of electronic communications and commerce on the original"internet". Once there were literally billions of pages freely shared.

    We screwed it all up,
    I love you...

“ Just dropped in to see what condition my condition was in…” We’ve had an interesting discussion recently re ; Why are we in Iraq…
I’ve recently learned of the ”petrodollar economy” where all oil in the world is sold in US dollars and speaker lindsey Williams claims a certain amount of those dollars were required to be returned in the form of tribute by buying us securities( debt).I had always wondered what the three “axis of evil countries” iraq, iran( for the Brits oiraq, oiran) and N korea had in common? Answer they don’t play along with this “scheme” they don’t trade oil in us dollars( though Iran only recently went off the resevation)So that may shoot this in the butt..
    Anyway
Reality#1): We need OIL for transportation, food production and to run this economy and petrodollar exchange funds our gov spending and Wall st…
Reality #2) the OIL is in jeopardy of beng siezed by another country, or nationalized by the producing country.
Reality #3) the resources are physically faraway from our extended military forces
Reality #4) The world economy is “advancing” large populations like china and India are growing a middle class who are demanding equal access to modern conveniences/luxuries cars , TV’s, etc. and are willing to pay for them..
    The home front:
The American ( voting) public enjoys a status quo matched by none other in the world We can out bid others for the resource for only so long , before it takes a “toll” on the economy. We do have a massive modern military force waiting in the wings.
Neo con pnac Plan: We can insure control of the resources by putting our forces in place to take what we need or at least prevent another country from claiming the the oilfields through military force. The “liberal “intelligensia”will endlessly debate the legal or moral ethics and feasibility of out right theft of these resources. So it can not be brought to public discussion as such.. ”Manly men “ with big(red, whiteand) blue hairy Patriotic testicles will have to advance the cause of this country without asking permission.

Reality #5) this seizure of power and redirection of the entire country is illegal and we could all be removed from power by the courts and congress as required in the founding document (and supreme law) the constitution.

We will “unify” them behind us and create a route by creating an invisible all encompassing immeasurable outside threat! a fear of unknown brown people who write backwards in a seemingly indecipherable script and language.( who just happen to be sitting on the world reserves of our lifeblood. We can justify building an ever increasing security state. We will maintain and remind them of this fear daily by outfitting our neighborhood police with black storm trooper uniforms, military assault weapons, and painful less than lethal weapons (often used publicly and indescriminately); and subject them to searches. Create a climate of fear where dissenters fear being thrown into camps or solitary confinement for months with no recourse. for meager or thought crimes.

    NOW WHAT DO(SHOULD?)WE citizen's DO about this…???

Excepting muslim fanatics really do cut living people heads off with dull kitchen knives, I won’t go so far to claim that cell was a bunch of cia guys from Passaic nj

Funny you say that, I'm reading a book called Blood and Oil and it reveals some good info. I'm only on Chp II so I'll discuss more when I'm done.

I'd be very interested to hear it, believe it or not, I highly respect your opinion, this really is "new thinking " for me I 'm not sure if I discovered the pieces to the puzzle( at least to satisfy myself) or if I stripped a cog somewhere...

Well thanks but like you I'm learning. Only 2-3 years ago I was a die hard Republican but have learned that I like neither party. That old saying that knowledge is king is so right. I have began to read more and even listen to or read opinions that do not always agree with my initial one. Getting old I guess?

Naturally the common people don't want war. But after all, it is the leaders of the country who determine policy, and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a Democracy, a Fasist dictatorship, or a Communist dictatorship.
The people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy.
All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the peace makers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in every country.
