Took my most recent projects to the range today to test fire them. Ran two magazines through each of them with no problems. The first is a registered SBR with a Ciener .22 conversion on a lower that I built from an 80% Tannery Shop receiver. The M-4gery is a Stag Arms lower with a spaced Hogue grips, Trijicon parallax-free holographic sight, a flat-top upper with a carry handle, tactical charging handle, Chip McCormick competition trigger group. The FN is an Imbel with a DSA receiver. The three AKs are Romy kits that I built. The receivers are from scratch.

The two AR's and the Imbel are mega, I never get or got off on the AK type of firearm.

Those are way cool. Is it just me or is the FN asking for a scope and a bipod? Maybe it's the voices. Haha.

I've got to shave .025 off the side plates on my bending jig center piece before I can bend flats for the three Yugo kits I got from Martin97. I finally got one of those kits demilled and ready to build. The Yugo under-folders are pretty complicated to demill. That rear trunion is a bitch to disassemble. I will try to demill the other two kits today. I have one more Romy kit and five more Romy receivers that I bent from flats.

Worked out great, Frank. That's that upper I got from you; I gave Oscar one of mine that I had already assembled on a Century lower. I put a Chip McCormick trigger group and teflon coated fire-control parts in a Stag lower that I got from Martin97 and dressed it out at the gunshow last weekend. Went back to the range for some serious shooting yesterday and am quite pleased with the results. Guess I'll be in the market for a suppressor soon for one of the ARs.

Yea, I built another Romy last night. That was the last of my Romy kits but I still got three Yugo under-folders. I am dropping my bending jig off at the machine-shop today to have .025 shaved off each side so I can bend the yugo flats. Like to have never figured how to take those puppies apart.

Finished a few more except for one of the Romies; I ran out of fire-control parts of the semi-auto kind.

yea, I just found kits back in stock really cheap and am really trying to talk myself out of buying another dozen or so. They are really fun to build.

Sea I have my kits demilled and I have built other guns but just wondering what tools you used to smash the rivets. Also, did you do the heat treating yourself? Could you expand on this heat treatment. I have my spot welder ready to go also what flats did you use I bent up some from akparts.com they feel thicker over the tapco. Anyways these are my first ak kits a build so if you can send over any pointers I would greatly apprecieate it..

I am also going to try and make a custom rear trunion so that I can make an over folder ak using a pps43 rear stock? Still have to plan it out since i have several rear stocks left over...

That sounds pretty cool. I made rivet tool out of a pair of Harbor-freight bolt cutters; you can get the plans online at AK-parts. It works pretty good. The heat-treating is simple; heat around the holes with a propane torch until cherry-red then quench. It is also a lot easier to do the trigger-guard rivets if you put them on before you put the receiver spacer in. I made a tool out of 1/2" round-stock that is notched for the rails and dimppled to set these rivets. My shop-press makes a lot of short-cuts too. I got flats from a few different sources including Tapco and AK-parts but really haven't noticed any major difference except that the Yugo flats are heavier metal. I also bought my rivets in bulk at WW Grainger because you never have enough.

    Congrats on the progress,
if I can ask where are you finding these kits cheap?

Also, well with the press i got the barrel out and finished drilling all the rivets.
SO I made progress today! One more question where do you get your compliance parts?, I need the trigger group and gas piston for a amd-65 (short one) I have found them pretty inexpencive but would like some input from someone who has done this before.
