Barack Obama's Ten Point Plan To "Change" The Second Amendment

<HR style="COLOR: #555576" SIZE=1><!-- / icon and title --><!-- message -->1) Ban use of firearms for home defense.

    2) Pass Federal laws eliminating your Right-to-Carry.

    3) Ban the manufacture, sale and possession of handguns.

    4) Close down 90% of the gun shops in America.

    5) Ban rifle ammunition commonly used for hunting and sport shooting.

    6) Increase federal taxes on guns and ammunition by 500 percent.

    7) Restore voting rights for five million criminals including those who have been convicted of using a gun to commit a violent crime.

    8) Expand the Clinton semi-auto ban to include millions more firearms.

    9) Mandate a government-issued license to purchase a firearm.

    10) Appoint judges to the U.S. Supreme Court and Federal judiciary who share his views on the Second Amendment.

I don't know how much truth there is to it, but I wouldn't put it past them to start with #10 and work their way up.....

It was on another forum that I belong to for 3 wheelers.....so I don't know how much validity there is to it, but I wouldn't put it past Obama, Hitlery, Feinstein, Schumer, etc.

 ...and on the makeup site I visit, they said that he's going to ban all Ivory tinted foundations. Sometimes you guys are so silly.

If you're not sure, check his site for his plans (barackobama.com). Wanna' know what he's done in the past? Check his congressional record (http://www.votesmart.org/voting_category.php?can_id=9490) .

This snip from his site (under Additional Issues/Sportsmen/Read the Full Plan) (http://www.barackobama.com/pdf/issues/additional/Obama_FactSheet_Western_Sportsmen.pdf):
    FYI: I'm not a supporter, just a researcher :)

MR. RUSSERT: Senator Obama, when you were in the state senate, you talked about licensing and registering guns and gun owners. Would you do that as president.

SEN. OBAMA: I -- I don't think that we can get that done. But what I do think we can do is to provide just some common-sense enforcement. One good example -- this is consistently blocked -- the efforts by law enforcement to obtain the information required to trace back guns that have been used in crimes to unscrupulous gun dealers. That's not something that the NRA has allowed to get through Congress, and as president I intend to make it happen.

But here's the broader context that I think is important for us to remember. We essentially have two realities when it comes to guns in this country. You've got the tradition of lawful gun ownership that all of us saw as we travel around rural parts of the country. And it is very important for many Americans to be able to hunt, fish, take their kids out, teach them how to shoot. And then you've got the reality of 34 Chicago public school students who get shot down on the streets of Chicago.

We can reconcile those two realities by making sure the Second Amendment is respected and that people are able to lawfully own guns, but that we also start cracking down on the kinds of abuses of firearms that we see on the streets.

But Obama said the "power of the gun lobby in Washington" has blocked tougher gun laws and enforcement.

"If you want to go hunt, go hunt. Nobody is trying to take your shotgun or rifle away," he said. "But when you've got the gun lobbying saying that we can't use ballistics to trace back where guns came from ... then it is time for us to stand up to the gun lobby and say enough. It is time for a change in Washington."

Senator Biden, the kind of flip side of the question I just asked Senator Clinton: What could the federal government have done to save those kids at Virginia Tech?

    BIDEN: Shotgun—not pistol.

What they could have done is two things. One, I was the fellow who, in the so-called Biden crime bill years ago to put 100,000 cops on the street that the Clinton administration made work incredibly well—the first assault weapons ban was passed.

I’ve worked with law enforcement for the past 30 years, deal with getting around with armor-piercing bullets, waiting periods, et cetera.

BIDEN: But the one thing that’s clear: We should not have let the assault weapons ban lapse.

Number two, we should close this so-called gun show loophole, so you can’t go into a gun show and buy a gun that you couldn’t buy walking into a gun shop.

Number three, I agree with everyone here; we have let the country down in the way in which we have not focused on mental illness. We should know that when you sent a kid to college, you’re going to be safe at college.

My wife is a doctor of education, a teacher at a community college. If, in fact, she and other teachers determine that a child, by the way they’re writing and what they’re acting, that they’re a danger, the school should be able to take them off the campus.

As far as his stance on 2nd Amendment Rights goes,

Straight from the asses mouth at the DNC during his Acceptance speech:

" The reality of gun ownership may be different for hunters in rural Ohio than for those plagued by gang- violence in Cleveland, but don't tell me we can't uphold the Second Amendment while keeping AK-47s out of the hands of criminals."

Maybe I'm wrong but this smells like a ban to me. I can't think of any other way that a politician could supposedly accomplish this other than banning AK-47's or outright surrender of AK-47's. We all know just how well banning certain types of firearms keep firearms out of the hands of criminals.

I'm kinda curious how the reality of gun-ownership is different for hunters than those living in gang-violence areas, other than those living in gang violence areas having a stronger need for an AK-47 than those living in rural Ohio. It seems to me that those living near these areas would need protection (self-defense) more than others. Sounds like the same reasoning that might have been used to ban handguns in Washington D.C.

You know, when I was growing up, a No Vote was considered a coward's act.

Of course, with a NV record like that, I'd also say No Office for You. But then again, who am I except an American Citizen?

I noticed that (NV), too FD. Sometimes no answer at all screams louder to me than an answer that I may not want to hear.

I'm not one to listen to what a politician tells me that they're going to do... I want to see what they've done with the time they've already been given by their constituents.

I hope that this year, everyone takes the time to give a well-educated vote, no matter who their personal choice is. :)
