arrest of Rourke, a Philadelphia-based photographer."Covering news is a constitutionally protected activity, and covering a riot is part of that coverage," Ake said. "Photographers should not be detained for covering breaking news."
Phil Carruthers, director of the prosecution division of the Ramsey County Attorney's Office, said Monday night that no charges against Rourke were anticipated. Rourke, held on a gross misdemeanor riot charge, was released early Tuesday.
Democracy Now! producers Sharif Abdel Kouddous and Nicole Salazar were arrested while they carried out their journalistic duties, Democracy Now! said in a statement. Democracy Now! said Kouddous and Salazar were arrested on a felony riot charge while Goodman was charged with misdemeanor obstruction of a legal process and interference with a peace

This keeps getting more sick as it goes. What i aam afraid of is one or some of these individuals will start fighting back, which will lead to an even greater level of force exerted by TJBT's. Even though I do not agree with 99.9% of what these far left people stand for, they are still Americans who are given the same rights and freedoms that the Consitution grants everyone.

I don't like the blatant,no questions asked disregard of constitutional rights, though I think destruction of property doesn't help the whole situation either. The first time a shot is fired by either side. The whole state will be locked down if not the entire country..[dunno]

This country is like a kitchen fire in your grampas deep fryer grease, and the crazy old bastid (currently in the whitehouse) is fixin to throw the pot of soup on it to try and put it out.ohno[shtf][flag][reddevil][cow]

Its a fken riot, if you wanna be there, then anticipate being treated like everyone there, how fken stupid can you be to be there and expect to be treated differently.
The older I get the dumber the public looks to me.

Funny isn't it that we didn't have these "Antiwar" protests until we started directly fighting Communism/Socialism in the 60's in Nam , out of the woodwork these people come and ever since Communism has advanced around the globe and right here in America .

Big difference between a peaceable demonstration and burning the flag and cars and cities and all the crap that is allowed under the guise of "Free Speech" .

I honestly think we and the world would be much better off if we had shot all the protesters and kicked Commie azz in Nam once and for all .

After all when did things take the turn for the worst and led to our present situation ?

    Don't see the non-sequitor?
    No dissent allowed?
    Dang commies...
Sorry dude:300 million citizens all with different opinions (and entitled to them..) Destruction of property is a crime and people responsible should be arrested. False arrest/ imprisonment on trumped up charges is like wise a crime. IMHO a worse crime because you fraudulently use the weight of the System to cause(lifelong?) damage to the individual.

Yeah them dang commie bastids wanting to run people's lives from the centeral planning agency or send the dissenters to gulag or just outright shoot them...bastids.

For all my smart ass response ;it is an interesting observation...
I will grant you it's coming out( being verified): real card carying communists were actively infiltrating "our" sytem in Senator Joe Mcarthy's day...Especially "academia".

Would have to agree there but the point would be

" I',m a journalist and not breaking any laws; hence no cause to zip tie me...And then follows
" I'm a citizen with a cardboard sign and tofu in my daypack : hence no reason to ziptie me either....
They both should be treated differently than the masked folks burning dumpsters.. seesawtaser1

A bunch of people were arrested at the Dem convention, too, by the police for taking pictures of the Big Wig corporate donors who don't exist in the Dem Party.

The reason this doesn't happen as much at the Dem convention is simply because Republicans are busy working and don't have time to protest. Its just the jobless on the public dole who have time to protest.

    What's next....Code Pink sit in?

Aside her incredible stupidity, the spraying was just plain wrong, and I hope she has some recourse. I'd bet not, but would be well received. As a Nam era graduate, there were a lot of those that would have earned spraying for far worse behavior than that woman and didn't get it. (They used rubber and real bullets in those days, you decide which is better.)

Now I hear on fox news there was an actual plot to kidnap delegates and those house searches turned up weapons and other contraband
To which my wife said:"see I told you so" and I replied" well thats what fox says; the cops would look real bad with all the video attention to come up empty handed". where we retired to opposite corners.(and she phoned in another order of thorazine to the 24hr pharmacy...)to be forcibly administered.

When you are within reach and told to leave, you had better leave, or suffer the consequences of your action no matter who you are.
    enter at your own risk.

    Ok
I feel compelled to mention that ANY news article is biased. There's three sides to any story, My side, Your side and somewhere in the middle is the truth. None of us here were at the riot, so all we see is a portion of a video or read about the reporters getting arrested. The video was clipped to give the part that the person editing it wanted everyone to see. So while it is possible that the author or owner of the video was giving a true unbiased account it's a better bet that they are just trying to torque your twinkies.

    Take care Be safe Poacher.

good point, twinkies torqued to 17ftlbs...I think "arresting journalists" was one of naomi wolf's 10 steps to closing down a democracy, So I got little excited over this whole rnc protest thing.( thought we had "evidence" of the jackboots kicking it up a notch)...

Guess not, ("worried" is too strong a word); I know there isn't much difference between the dems and repubs but I expected the repubs to be more ham fisted about it.And once I started looking I found those storiesof the meeting places being raided before any protests began...

Obviously we see different sides of this whole "civil rights "thing.
Laws protect us from each other including the gov.Got kids? Got a constitution?
She wasn't a physical threat, She wasn't destroying property; someone didn't like what she was saying.
    looks alot like assault...
So whats the reason for force here(chemical agent?)( somebody thought this'll be cool?)

The crowd was told to disperse, don't do it and get treated like the rest, very simple.
