    Father/Daughter Talk - A True Revelation

A young woman was about to finish her first year of college. Like so
many others her age, she considered herself to be a very liberal
Democrat, and was very much in favor of "the redistribution of wealth."

She was deeply ashamed that her father was a rather staunch Republican,
a feeling she openly expressed. Based on the lectures that she had
participated in, and the occasional chat with a professor, she felt that
her father had for years harbored an evil, selfish desire to keep what
    he thought should be his.

One day she was challenging her father on his opposition to higher
taxes on the rich and the addition of more government welfare programs.
The self-professed objectivity proclaimed by her professors had to be
the truth and she indicated so to her father. He responded by asking how
    she was doing in school.

Taken aback, she answered rather haughtily that she had a 4.0 GPA, and
let him know that it was tough to maintain, insisting that she was
taking a very difficult course load and was constantly studying, which
left her no time to go out and party like other people she knew. She
didn't even have time for a boyfriend, and didn't really have many
college friends because she spent all her time studying.

Her father listened and then asked, "How is your friend Audrey doing?"

She replied, "Audrey is barely getting by. All she takes are easy
classes, she never studies, and she barely has a 2.0 GPA. She is so popu
lar on campus; college for her is a blast. She's always invited to all
the parties, and lots of times she doesn't even show up for classes
    because she's too hung over."

Her wise father asked his daughter, "Why don't you go to the Dean's
office and ask him to deduct a 1.0 off your GPA and give it to your
friend who only has a 2.0. That way you will both have a 3.0 GPA and
certainly that would be a fair and equal distribution of GPA."

The daughter, visibly shocked by her father's suggestion, angrily fired
back, "That wouldn't be fair! I have worked really hard for my grades!
I've invested a lot of time, and a lot of hard work! Audrey has done
next to nothing toward her degree. She played while I worked my tail
    off!"

The father slowly smiled, winked and said gently, "Welcome to the Republican Party."

Then she got out of school, got a job, the republicans began confiscating thousands from her in tax dollars for corporate welfare for big oil and big pharma among others.

Eighteen years later, she attended the funeral of her only son, who died in action protecting the interests of the big corporations under the guise of protecting our freedoms.

Ten years after that, she spoke with her mother on her death bed who couldn't afford the medical attention she needed to stay alive thanks to getting screwed by her insurance company, and the insane profit margins, even though she had been funding the medical research for the last 28 years with her hard earned tax money.

Her dying mother said, welcome to the republican party dear.

Yeah I bet Blackjack must be lonely indeed.....

Hey Blackjack, are you voting for Obama and Biden?

If so, kiss all of your guns goodbye (thanks to Obama, Biden, Clinton, Schumer, Feinstein, Bloomberg, etc) with a new assault weapons ban sure to be introduced since the Dems control the House, the Senate, and very soon possibly the White House, and say hello to higher taxes for all tax brackets, and kiss more of your civil liberties away also.....welcome to the Democratic Party........

Blackjack, replace the word republicans, with corporate elitist neocons and leftest, then you will hit the nail on the head. The "Corporate Oligarky" is headed both by the extreme right and the left. How many major corporations are for gun control, socialized medicine, and welfare for booth the lazy poor and rich. The laundry list that they push for is endless, and all they do is to whittle away at our freedoms that the founding fathers fought for us. It was both the extreme left and the right that passed the socalled bailout bill, not the true blue conservative democrates or republicans.

RC, I agree... I'm not defending the left at all, I hate those theiving bastiges just as much as the ones on the right.

See, Conagher, just because I speak out against the right, doesn't mean I like the left, for some reason, we collectively get in this mode where....... you have to pick a side, then support your side beyond all reason, and be against everything the other side says/does.

Our guns are no safer from McCain, nor our civil liberties, or do I have to remind everyone of all the rights we've lost under the last 8 years of Bush. Far worse than the Clinton years, and I really hated that lying p.o.s.

The vast majority of Americans all want the same things, we're nearly all on the same team, yet every 4 years, the puppetmasters manage to divide us up one against the other until we begin seeing the enemy amongst our own. Once you take sides, right/left, you've been duped, and the only ones that win are the same a**holes that have been manipulating us all along.

Until the right stops seeing the left as the enemy and vice versa, we will never be free from their control.

    POP QUIZ

Which recent President passed the most restrictive gun laws to date?

    George Bush Sr.

Which President issued the most un-constitutional, freedom robbing, big brother, government growing Executive Orders in history?

    George W.

So the Republican leadership has certainly not been a friend to the gun owner, the blue collar worker, or the average citizen in a long, long time.

"It doesn't matter who you vote for, the government always gets elected."

And no I didn't vote for chairman maobama, but it hurt like hell to once again vote the lesser of two evils. (I am out of state so voted absentee) I held my nose, choked down the bile and voted.. But I didn't vote for the flip flopping RINO McCain, I voted for Sarah Palin and if she has to drag that crusty old has been along with her then so be it!!

So BlackJack's not that lonely. There are a lot of us that are fed up with both parties.

I lost all interest in this election when Ron Paul did not get the nomination. I could care less which of the two a-hole gets in; neither will get my vote. Evil is evil and I am done choosing between them. I believe a revolution is coming and it frightens me.

I have been considering the same thing. Will the revolution be of the and October Revolution or will it be a Lexington & Concord Revolution? or a combination of the both that leads to a breaking up of the Union?

Somehow, I doubt the union will be broken up. However, in the short term, centralized government (as opposed to centralized control) will be weakened to the extent that the union will be stressed by external forces. It may be that those external influences will be the factor that brings the US back to the point where we can again put a Great White Fleet to sea.

Neither the OR nor the L&C actions would quite fit the situation we have now, though I can see that the donkeys could put the elephants into Bolshevik/Menshevic mode if they aren't careful.

So who's the least offensive choice? I quit watching the whole circus while Hilary was in her " I',m not quite dead yet..." phases. Severe dislike for the would be king and queen of theworld.
Now it's the day before and I feel like a kid who didn't do all my home work.. Sofar I'm choking down breakfast and throwing the lever for the hottie andthe curmudgeon.Unless RP magically apears.( but there s a large dose of " well here goes nothin"Hoping for the best to go along with it.
I think The O man has areal chance at this and that couldbe incredibly bad..Splitting the repub vote among independants.just helps him. Nadar/ bob baar?? I've gotta find out who made the ballot here..

My state doesn't allow write-ins so I had no choice. But that does not mean that I think that voting in another Republican administration will significantly change anything.

I liken it to choosing between two trains that are both heading for the same destination just taking different routes. A growing big brother state is on it's way and it doesn't matter a whole heck of a lot if we take the express or the scenic route to get there.

The dems and obamination think the Constitution is a "living document" and a flexible model that can be adapted to whatever they think it should be. And the Repubs consider it just a "g'damned piece of paper" that can be ignored whenever "security" demands it.

Supremes asked to halt Tuesday's vote
Constitutional crisis feared over Obama's 'qualifications'

The U.S. Supreme Court is being asked to help the nation avoid a constitutional crisis by halting Tuesday's election until Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama documents his eligibility to run for the top office in the nation.
    Democratic
attorney Philip Berg had filed a lawsuit alleging Obama is ineligible to be president because of possible birth in Kenya, but as WND reported, a federal judge dismissed the complaint claiming Berg lacks standing to bring the action.
The 34-page memorandum that accompanied the court order from Judge R. Barclay Surrick concluded ordinary citizens can't sue to ensure that a presidential candidate actually meets the constitutional requirements of the office.
Instead, Surrick said Congress could determine "that citizens, voters, or party members should police the Constitution's eligibility requirements for the Presidency, but "that it would take new laws to grant individual citizens that ability.
"Until that time," Surrick says, "voters do not have standing to bring the sort of challenge that Plaintiff attempts to bring."
    .
    .
    .
    .

".This is a question of who has standing to stand up for our Constitution," Berg told Jeff Schreiber of America's Right blog. "If I don't have standing, if you don't have standing, if your neighbor doesn't have standing to ask whether or not the likely next president of the United States
    – the most powerful man in the entire world – is eligible to be in that office in the first place, then who does?"

New FBI Powers: A Necessary Step for Counterterrorism

On October 3, the Department of Justice published the revised Attorney General Guidelines (AGG), which govern all Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) activities, including those involving international terrorism. The AGG comes into effect on December 1, 2008, and will consolidate procedures controlling the FBI's various investigative programs. Although members of Congress, civil rights groups, and the media have criticized the AGG, the revision is a necessary and important step for the FBI's counterterrorism investigations as well as all of the Bureau's investigative programs. Justice Department and FBI officials, however, will have to exert strong leadership to ensure the appropriate and effective implementation of the guidelines.

DARPA Engineering New "Home Invasion" Technologies

Just when you thought the Pentagon’s Dr. Strangeloves couldn’t design anything more devilish than they have already, new plans on the drawing board may help make the science of repression an ever-more lucrative market for capitalist grifters in the defense and security industries.

The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), the Pentagon geek-squad that designs insidious ways to kill people, has announced a new project, Harnessing Infrastructure for Building Reconnaissance (HIBR).

The Broad Agency Announcement (BAA09-08) published October 10, is seeking industry proposals for a suite of high-tech tools that will provide "warfighters" and "peacekeepers" with the uncanny ability to peer inside your apartment building, in what the agency claims would be an unprecedented opportunity to map rooms, stairwells and people in real-time–the better to "pacify" them.

US forces want man-hunting robot wolfpacks

Trouser-moisteningly terrifying news broke this week, as it emerged that sinister forces within the US military are looking to develop a remorseless robotic wolfpack capable of hunting down "a non-cooperative human subject" in "an indoor environment".

Yes, it's true - last month, crazed Pentagon brainiacs asked contractors to develop a "Multi-Robot Pursuit System", to consist of:

A software and sensor package to enable a team of robots to search for and detect human presence in an indoor environment...

Operator control units are available that allow semi-autonomous map-based control of a team of robots ... There has also been significant research in the game theory community involving pursuit/evasion scenarios. This topic seeks to merge these research areas and develop a software/hardware suite that would enable a multi-robot team, together with a human operator, to search for and detect a non-cooperative human subject.

It will be necessary to determine an appropriate sensor suite that can reliably detect human presence and is suitable for implementation on small robotic platforms.

Typical robots for this type of activity are expected to weigh less than 100 Kg and the team would have three to five robots.

(warning, the following is extreme hyperbole)
Not only will the skies of tomorrow be black with automated armadas of Reaper slay-planes, Fire Scout unmanned kill-choppers and possible crewless raygun cyber bombers; not only will thousands of years of human civilisation rapidly be reduced to smoking rubble; but even the option of cowering like a hunted beast in a cellar, sewer or tumbled monument has now been snatched away. Those hoping to survive for years after the machine uprising, subsisting on refuse and scuttling rat-like through the ruins until loneliness and horror finally bring merciful insanity and death, have been balked. Soulless squads of steel stormtrooper assassins will prowl the shattered cities of humanity like hunting velociraptor packs, sniffing out and snuffing the cowering remnant meatsacks, until a lifeless Pax Robotica rules the entire Earth unchallenged.

Judge orders White House to produce wiretap memos

WASHINGTON - A judge has ordered the Justice Department to produce White House memos that provide the legal basis for the Bush administration's post-Sept. 11 warrantless wiretapping program.
U.S. District Judge Henry Kennedy Jr. signed an order Friday requiring the department to produce the memos by the White House legal counsel's office by Nov. 17. He said he will review the memos in private to determine if any information can be released publicly without violating attorney-client privilege or jeopardizing national security.

Kennedy issued his order in response to lawsuits by civil liberties groups in 2005 after news reports disclosed the wiretapping.

The department had argued that the memos were protected attorney-client communications and contain classified information.

But Kennedy said that the attorney-client argument was "too vague" and that he would have to look at the documents himself to determine if that argument is valid and also to see if there is information that can be released without endangering national security.

Justice Department spokesman Dean Boyd said Saturday the department is reviewing the opinion and will "respond appropriately in court."

Shortly after the Sept. 11 attacks, Bush authorized the National Security Agency to spy on calls between people in the U.S. and suspected terrorists abroad without obtaining court warrants. The administration said it needed to act more quickly than the court could and that the president had inherent authority under the Constitution to order warrantless domestic spying.

After the program was challenged in court, Bush last year put it under the supervision of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court, established in 1978 after the domestic spying scandals of the 1970s.

"We think just as a common sense matter the legal theories for the president's wiretap programs cannot be classified and should be available to the public," said Marc Rotenberg, president of the Electronic Privacy Information Center, one of the groups seeking the memos.

"It's an important decision because up to this point the judge has relied on the government's assertion that it has done everything properly under the law and that it has disclosed everything it needs to disclose," Rotenberg said Saturday.

So how much safer do you feel voting for another Republican neo-con administration?

    A few relevent quotes;

"Our present government has made every attempt to thwart our right to due process, using claims of national security and state secrets to mask the use of truly dictatorial powers and procedures, profoundly contrary to the natural law."

"The federal government has used fearmongering as a tactic to seduce the sheep into compliance with its unconstitutional laws"

" The problem with government in America today is that it attracts primarily those who wish to expand it."

"With the passage of time, with government assaults on liberty during wartime accepted by sheep-like Americans, and with a wink and a nod, government lawbreaking has become the rule, fear the means, power the end, and liberty the victim in the everyday operation of government in America today."

Who said such radical things? Some disenfranchised liberal professor? Some wacko right wing militia nut?

Maybe an Adjunct Professor of Law at Seton Hall Law School? A teacher and recognized expert on constitutional law and jurisprudence? A respected Superior Court Judge? Who could this radical be?
    .
    .
    .
    .
How about Judge Andrew P. Napolitano. All quotes taken from his book "A Nation of Sheep".

He comes as close to advocating possible armed rebellion as any Patriot/Militia speaker I have ever heard. IF things continue.

If the government continues on its course of tyrannical, liberty stealing ways then "It will be time to alter or abolish any government that would do such things, as the Declaration of Independence demands."

Will there ever be an armed AMREV 2? I doubt it. Americans are to sheepish, too lacksadaisical. Give most of them a TV a six pack and a paycheck and they will let the government do anything it wants.

The sheep have taken over and the wolves are few and far between. There are a lot of barking dogs, but I have seen it in the past, when the government throws a rock at them they whimper and hide under the porch.

Sorry for the hi-jack and the rambling. I guess my point would be like I said before "It doesn't matter who you vote for, the government always gets elected."

A NW get together sounds like a lot of fun.....food, drinks, shooting guns, etc.

On a side note, Blackjack I wasn't trying to come off as the Republicans don't do any wrong.

But if Obama gets into office, and with the Dems already controlling the House and the Senate, and if they retain their seats in the House and the Senate, then they will have a Democratic 60% majority vote on issues going through the House and Senate is available, nothing and I mean nothing will stop the Dems from passing any measure, law, or amendment they see fit.

I guarantee you with Obama, Biden, Hildabeast, Schumer, Feinstein, Pelosi, and the other Dems that want an all-out assault weapons ban, it will be passed in a heartbeat and there won't be no stopping it since there will be no Republican opposition to stand in their way.

I would have rather seen Ron Paul up there getting the votes to help turn this country around, but that didn't happen as we all can see.

Oh well, if this turns out for the worse tomorrow, then maybe the next revolution is closer than we think.....
