I had a reflective blanket over the cardboard shelter to provice (mostly) protection from wet snow. It helped - abit - with heat retention

me with a UCo candle lantern. Didn't use inside, but it would add a bit of heat (~80 BTUs) for really cold days

Woll blanket, USGI ground insulating pad and a Reflextix pad under. Under the shelter was an adddition 3 layers of cardboard

Didn't have a camp fire so the candle lantern provided light for ~9 hours. Not bad for the space/weight used.
