Sun Myung Moon haven't heard that name in eons.
I use to work with a guy whose father-in-law kidnapped, then deprogrammed Moonies and helped get them back to their families.

Most were in their late teens, early twenties then. Looks as if they've aged a bit.

Cults are generally not very good for the individuals that are enmeshed within them, even
for the cult leader. Nor are they generally good for the societies within which they infest.

I merely point out the risks of malignant Cults to individuals and societies that indulging their malignancy can ensue.

When I see that type of thing, it reminds me of Jim Jones and Guyana in this case more so with the history of his father Rev. Sun Myung Moon and his control; over his followers.

Not all, Christianity, Protestants and Mormons were cults once. Now they are respectable and mainstream.

It would be an error to assume that each of those religious faith confessions are universally respectable...each have their significant malignant cultish sub cultures which are inimical to human flourishing.

Having the appearance of 'respectability' and being 'mainstream' are not necessarily guarantees against exploitation and abuse.

I must agree, things are not always as they seem to appear.
In human terms, if your going to poke the bear you'd best be doing it with a big gun. However,
Elijah didn't need a gun at all, He called bear from the woods to deal with his enemies.
I'm not saying disarm, however I rather prefer to seek God's instruction for events I am thrust into.
Rushing ahead like Peter in the garden at Jesus' arrest, was not the reason told them to have a sword but rather for their own defense seeing "Jesus alone" was going to be arrested as a part of God's plan. They would not have the His guidance while He was detained. The Holy Spirit was not given them till the day of Pentecost.
I may have been given the power to do something but If Jesus is governing my life, it is up to Him as to what I am to do with it. If I call him Lord but do not do those things He directs, He then is not my Lord at all. Matthew 7;21,22,23.
Noble deeds, men's approval or good works do not prove anything, but obedience to the tutelage of the Holy Spirit does.
There may come a time when Christians fallow Jesus into battle, but that time is of His choosing not ours.
