Former presidential contender and billionaire Ross Perot is worried that America is a sitting duck for an unnamed foreign invader. In an interview for his new autobiography, Perot said the nation's weak economy has left us open for a hostile takeover—and neither presidential candidate is the man to save the country.
Citing an impending fiscal cliff, Perot warned of disaster. "If we are that weak, just think of who wants to come here first and take us over," the former CEO of info-tech company Perot Systems told USA Today on Monday.
"The last thing I ever want to see is our country taken over because we're so financially weak, we can't do anything," Perot says.
When asked for his take on the presidential race, Perot added, "Nobody that's running really talks about it, about what we have to do and why we have to do it. They would prefer not to have it discussed."
However cryptic he may be, this is the first political reckoning by Perot in years, ever since he withdrew from the political landscape after the fall of his Reform Party in the 2000 election. The man who ran the most successful third-party campaigns in contemporary American politics also expressed optimism about the current tea party activism and its efforts to "wake up" both Washington and the electorate.
Still, he thinks that even the fresh voices in the populist, small-government tea party movement aren't focusing on the real doomsday issue: the deficit. Comparing the Washington establishment to a bunch of fiscal drunks, Perot is still waiting for America to undergo an intervention, before it finds itself owned by a new global power. "It's like the guy who's drinking—sooner or later, he's got to put a cork on the bottle, right?"
Find out what the candidates are doing to doing prepare for the first debate:

I seriously can't think of anyone stupid enough to attempt to 'take over' America in an armed incursion.
Financial and political yes, boots on ground no. Oh wait, I've thought of one. Our own government. They might be stupid enough.

Even the Japanese were smart enough to know that behind every blade of grass is a weapon.

Well, Perot is a businessman, and he thinks in financial terms. This doesn't surprise me one bit that he has surmised our greatest strength and show of power is money --which, of course is completely off base from reality. In his world, money is the answer to everything (save actually acquiring the seat of President) and he naturally must have a "solution" to our current economic woes. Everybody with any sense already knows that Presidents are appointed by the Oligarchy and our money is privately owned, headed by private foreign investors and regulated by the Queen of England and her cronies.

I am certain, as history has already proven many times over --that every civilization will eventually fall. Nothing lasts forever, kids. The incorporated government is constantly working to seize all guns from the hands of the American people, and around every new corner they create more laws and insert more regulations, making virtually everything a crime --turning a once peaceful people into criminals without the ability to defend against tyrannous government. The prisons in America are some of the most disturbing corporations on the planet, and with the world's largest inmate population, we can see a small portion of our future, perhaps. The theory, "behind every blade of grass" would be nice, and certainly applied in days long since passed, but the future may prove different. Certainly there are many guns in the hands of citizens, but how many are collectors and how many are veterans or hunters? Out of that portion, how many are in positions to do something and risk life or family? Out of these, how many are informed enough to make the right decision? When it all boils down, we may find a little grass standing amongst a desert wasteland, clumped together in small patches. That is the extent of what I feel the theory truly represents today. Nevertheless, with corporate media propaganda, to GMO poisoning, various poisonous chemicals in drinking water, medication and indoctrination of our youth, government sponsored education, and an ever expanding police state, there is little need for a foreign army to even invade.

I do reminisce from time to time about the "Red Dawn" movie and what it would be like to be placed in such a scenario. It's frightening to even think about, but at the same time it's a little bit welcoming to consider because it makes us feel like we have a fighting chance.

The mechanics of over-throwing our constitution and the founding principles of our great country, are working hard everyday and in plain site now- and the majority can't even see it. When the people are slaves to the government, will they see it for what it is or think it is just the new normal?

I am with Guit- Wolverines!!! I will hide behind my "blade of grass" until I see the whites of their eyes.....

Right on man! Better to go out in a pile of brass than in a Fusion Center or on your knees in front of a big ditch.

The fusion center idea was a paper concept that someone pushed thru intelligence appropriations. While they may be a waste in money- there is an agenda and at some point they will get the mission right to keep their masters at bay . They won't pull the financial plug on this concept, it is part of the overall strategy to monitor and control the populace. You have to break a few eggs to make an omlete...

Fusion centers, FEMA camps, Superdomes.....call them what you will, but, the govt. will try to put people into some kind of camps because they are easier to control that way. The .gov just won't have the manpower to patrol everywhere....but, if you bring the people to you and put them inside 4 fences....problem solved.

Unfortunately Guit_fishN, you are correct. Unfortunately again, it will be all to easy to get people to comply with a request like that. Be it for the lack of food, water or shelter , they will gladly trade their freedom a pot, a hot and a cot.

It will be too late when the realize that food, water, and shelter are not guarnteed by the constitution. They should have been preparing to provide it for their own families.

I understand wide spread disasters like fire, hurricanes and earthquakes can affect a wide area, and can wipe out years of planning but we are talking cities full of dolts without a clue. Their 'The Government' will take care of them (one way or another) and it may not be in the best interest of the citizen.

No camps for me. Unless it's at a nice lake, with campfires, surrounded by like minded folk enjoying nature.

After she watched the debate my wife asked, "Where is that guy who ran for president with all the charts? We need to see those again. I bet they would look a lot worse now!"
