I'm thinkin he had it out as soon as he saw the cubs. It was pretty darn quick. And did he need a change of pants afterward.
Don't mess with bears.... Especially Mama bears.... Especially Mama bears with cubs.... Right Tracy ?!?
For some reason I can't get to the video. There was just a show on Discovery called How to Survive, they covered Avalanches, lightning strikes, bear attacks, show was filmed in the 90's was pretty good. I live in Black Bear Country and where I live I am on a main thourofare, they cross my property at least once a day usually around dinner time they come walking thorugh, mamma and two younger ones, I make sure to keep my distance and keep my kids away, don't want to mess with them, for the most part they will take off the minute you make a noise, but over the summer we were having a camp fire cooking smores and stuff and the bears were sitting about 20 feet from the kids just into the woodline. Didn't know wife and Mom-in-law could move that fast, they were in the house before I could get up and start moving LMAO, I stood up and yelled at them and they took off deeper into the woods, we put the fire out and retired for the night, didn't want to take any chances
True, grizzly attacks are most often defensive, while black bear attacks on humans, are often both defensive and predatory. It should be noted that these are rare.
