Man, I was all ready to buy myself an early Christmas present! Been hearing good things about the "Dagger" 9mm pistols from Palmetto State Armory. A clone of the Gen 3 Glock, that sometimes goes on sale for half the price of the Glock! https://palmettostatearmory.com/psa...reme-carry-cuts-night-sights-black-dlc-2.html This one's on sale for $299.99, and has night sights. Awesome! Until you hit the checkout, that is!! Shipping: $19.99 Shipping protection: $9.99 Sales tax: $22.40 So my $300 pistol is now over $350.....and that's before paying the $40 transfer fee! Uh, yeah.....I think I'll wait, to see if something goes on sale for Christmas!
I'll go to my local gun store and and instead of paying the transfer fee I'll buy anywhere from $70 to $300 worth of ammo I was already going to buy.
Had one of these shipped in yesterday after being told ''They don't make those in a 30/30'' Several other places, We can't get one! Enter the phantom 30/30 my new deer boomer! https://palmettostatearmory.com/henry-lever-action-hush-spd-series-16-5-30-30-win-rifle.html Might of saved 35.00 bucks transfer fees if I could of bought local but you never really know the dealers mark-up?
That's a nice looking lever action! I believe you can waive the shipping protection, I had that option when ordering an upper for a Christmas present. Tax will still be paid locally, and the shipping does not look out of line. I know the PSA does sales and often has coupon codes for discounts. Guess I'm lucky, I'm friends with my gun store owner and he only charges the TN fee of $10.00 for the background checks. His business is hurting this year, just a bad year in general so I give him as much business as I can.
there's things I don't want delivered - OPSEC - especially if there isn't a provision to personally hand it over at the door >>> last thing I'd want is to report a stolen weapon by some f ___king porch pirate .....
everything here is transferred, you'd have to go to a local shop anyway to pick it up unless you're an FFL, but in that case you probably already have a plan for your OPSEC
Unless you're in the same state, or PSA has nexus in your state, you shouldn't have to pay their sales tax. At least that's my understanding.
Not anymore, thanks to a SCOTUS ruling. https://palmettostatearmory.com/help-center/terms-conditions.html#special-tax-notices
Yeah the local dealer still is selling the P50 for more than what bought mine for. Bought 5 boxes of golddot 5.7x28 ammo, which was all they had for a pretty good price to cover the transfer fee. Still need to range test that GD ammo.
I bought a couple of shotguns online, a few years back. Stevens 311 SXS 12 ga. and a H&R 12 ga. single-shot slug-gun. Both were used and in really good shape. You can't buy guns like that anymore, ALL metal (no plastics) and wood stocks.
Last time I bought something from PSA it was followed almost immediately by an attempt to charge $3500 to my credit card and transfer the money to a savings account at a bank in the vicinity of PSA. My bank caught it and stopped the transaction.
Yeah @Gator 45/70 it was right about then. He's lucky he didn't go to jail. I bought a 20" .308 upper.
