What do y'all carry or keep in your pistol at home.
    Caliber, brand, bullet weight.
Which was most accurate and/or reliable.

I keep Federal Hydro-Shock .45ACP and I think it is 230grain. It is more accurate than I am and I haven't had any issues even though my .45 isn't broke in yet.

My ideal round would be the M107 HE 155mm Howitzer Round. 97 lbs (679,000 grains @ 7,000 grains per pound.) Not much left of just about anything.

    .45 Cal 230 grain Hydrashocks

Winchester Ranger 230gr in my Kimber .45, which is my carry gun and goes on the nightstand at home. It's a police round, therefore much more easliy defensable in court. Hard for the prosecution to argue you're using some kind of "super-killing" round when the po-po use it. :p

Well, you could always get extra nasty and bust open a thermometer and fill a hollow point with the mercurey and seal it, kills em even if you shoot them in the toe. [peep]
But seriously, I had always thought of hollow points as the begin all end all on devastateing ammo untill I worked at the meat locker for a while and also started doing more of my own butchering. At the locker we used a .22 to put the animals down, includeing cattle over 2000 pounds, and if you used hollow points they often just bounced off the head but with standard round nose they would drop the instantly. I have had similar experiences with a .38. I had some ammo that had masive expansion and from what they did on wood had figured they would be brutal, untill I had to shoot a pig in the head 4 times to put him down. When I went to butcher him I found the first 3 slugs had just dempled the skull and flatened out but didnt go into the brain. So while I dont know what IS the best I have come to the conclusion that hollow points aren't all I had always thought they were.

I think I've got a vest that could handle that......

Remington Golden Saber 124 gr. for my Glock 19. I couldn't decide between light & fast or slow with mass, so I opted to split the difference.

Hope I never need to find out if I made the right choice.
