The grater looks like a nutmeg grater. The repurposed tooth paste tube is a clever hack, dispensing the fire starter paste in a controlled manner. I guess if the paste dried out, the tube could be cut into portions. Probably a good idea to paint the tube so that it doesn't resemble Pepsodent. (It kind of reminds me of a funny childhood rhyme "You'll wonder where the yellow went, when you brush your teat with wet cement".)
Adding anything to fatwood is just plain silly. I have soaked a ferro and chunk of fatwood in a bucket of water for two weeks. Took 'em out, shooked 'em off, a couple scrapes and had flame. IMHO there's no need to "improve" upon perfection.
That may be so if one has ready access to a supply of fat wood, else, whatever improvised flammable materials which can be found at hand. One needn't be a Jeremiah Johnson purist to get a fire going when needs must.

Agreed....it's a matter of what is available as a flammable agent at the time and place of need....scented beeswax is surely more agreeable than kerosene to the nostrils.
