Well I 'm confused, there's quite a few experts with alot of the alphabet behind their names who fall in line with Algore re: the global warming crisis ."There are more than a few who disagree( my spouse for one).
    What do you guys think?
    Is Algore right?
are the envirionmemtalist's overreacting to the natural variation in the sun?
AND How does it affect any preparedness planning on your part??

There is little doubt that there is a warming trend, but no reason to think it is either human caused or a natural cycle. I can wait for more scientific proof to go with the evidence. In the meantime, I'll retire to a higher elevation to avoid wet feet when the Antarctic ice cap melts.:D

I don't believe that we have a clue what's going on, and frankly I wouldn't be surprised if there really is no global warming, or the earth incinerates next week, it could go either way probably.

It doesn't work into my preparedness plans at all. Any survivable problems from global warming are pretty much covered under other possible scenarios.

Thanks Quigley, finally the other side squeaks a word out, Seems the alarmists constitute the establishment and are quick to stomp out opposition views...The warmer air = drier air = fewer storms logic makes sense...

I think this Global Warming is all a crock of horse manure. If you study historic documents, there has always been a trend of warming and cooling. It's the cycles of the earth. And we as humans cannot be so arrogant that we believe we are causing these cycles.

I have a friend that is well versed in many sciences and has the proof to back it all up as well as the knowledge. In the 80s it was said that the propellant in hair spray cans was causing the ozone to disappear. Little known fact, that chemical is way heavier than air. So the question, If the chemical is heavier than air, how can it stay in the air and do harm to the ozone layer?

My friend asked this of one of his professors and got only a blank stare as his answer. The professor had just concluded a lecture on said warming.

It's all based on BS in my mind. Though I will have to admit since Gore invented the Ozone layer, and the Global Warming, he should know. :D

I think methane produces a greater deterioration of the stratosphere than does flourocarbons. If I read this correctly, second only to decaying vegatation, bovine flatulance is the largest producer of methane...
I can invision Ma and Pa sitting around the table....
"MA, gotta nuther letter from the farm bureau"
    "What's it say, Pa?"
"Not sure, seems like there's a problem with ole bossy...maybe we gotta cork her up"
    "What's that, Pa?"
"Well, best as I can tell, they think ever time she farts, it screws up the ozarks..."

Also on a side note about global warming predictions.
they said we would have 9 Hurricans 5 of them in the class 5 and higher

Well there were 5 total (today is the offical end of hurrican season btw)
and none hit the US and all were small.

These very same people said the worst was yet to come this year.
They need to go back to doing what it is they did best while in school.

What on earth makes you think they stopped?

Hard to believe that they can make a living being wrong half the time. That isn't even a passing grade in school. Most folks would be fired for that level of accuracy. Very strange business --. I suppose there is a parallel between politics and business. Somewhere.

Intersting blog reply i found wandering:

Since when is science a ****ing democracy?

There was at one time a consensus of scientists who thought the Earth was flat.

There was at one time a consensus of scientists who thought objects floated on water because of their shape.

There was at one time a consensus of scientists who thought gravity made heavier objects fall faster.

Here is a simple fact that will dispel all belief that Global Warming is an antrogenic (caused by humans) problem.

There were 6 Ice Ages before man set foot on Earth.

That means that the planet cooled, Ice formed, the planet warmed, the Ice melted 6 times before the first homo-sapiens began their rapacious pillaging and polluting of "Mother Earth".

Al Gore is just looking for attention because he has no friends.

    Oh look its ManBearPig...OMFG

    He has a point there...

Must have missed that one. Did see the almost extinct, loud mouth, long armed things on one episode though. That was funny and annoying at the same time. I think if I use the name, I'd have this thread sent to the Inferno. Haha.
