I've tried this, with limit success. I will say it's also like asparagus, which is something I LOVE!!

Additionally I will dehydrate the celery leaves and use them in my cooking to add the celery flavoring w/o having to add the celery.

ditch witch I do stupid crap, so you don't have to

LOL we go through celery like mad here. I will have to try this. I usually just throw the bottoms to the rabbits.

I wish I liked it. I'm getting more tolerant of it. I love cole slaw and there was a time that if I had cole slaw somewhere and it had celery seeds in it, it would make me gag.

It's a dagum conspiracy: I hate asparagus too.

That will get a try. Love celery, goes very well in potato and tuna salads, not to mention meat loaf. (Not wild about asper-grass, but will eat it in preference to going hungry.)

LOL, one of my first paying jobs was to get up before sunrise and pick asparagus. I would routinely wake up late and miss breakfast so I would just snack on fresh cut asparagus, yum!!

I have seen asparagus with bacon wrapped around it. Maybe I'll try that....everything is better with bacon. Maybe it was panchetta...same difference eh.

    Try grilling asparagus. Yum! :)

I have grilled it many times....my wife loves the stuff. It always had a bitter taste that I didn't care for. Maybe it's like eggplant and I'm just not cooking it right.

Celery stays fresh in the fridge for a very very long time. I love to add it to beef stew and tuna salad, or just eat it raw with some peanut butter.

Go to a farmers market and get some FRESH asparagus. The bigger the stalk, the more woody it will be. I try to keep my asparagus stalks as small as possible (diameter wise) for best taste.

Wait a minute... There's a right way to cook eggplant?!? ;) Tried that stuff once - seemed a bit too squooooshy in texture for me to want to try it again.

I agree about smaller spears - makes all the difference. :)

Brian It is as you say

Celery is awesome (especially with peanut butter), but eggplant has never sat right with me. I so wanted to like it, but no. Just no.

Love Asparagus, our old bed has about seen its better days. May put in a new one closer to our home--it is time to do it. Already have the horse manure cured out--may put in some goat with it.

Celery unfortunately has next to no nutritional value, celery seed is a great seasoning. Asparigas baked in olive oil and balsamic vinagair is amazing as well as brocolii!

I wouldn't say it has "no" nutritional value.....

Yep, and it works very well as a carrier for peanut butter, salt or your fave high caloric spread. (Cream cheese, olives, and chopped onion comes to mind.)
