...if the bombing resumes...

Personally, I have always doubted the possibility of Iran being brought to surrender by just bombing. Yeah, I am having deep concerns because I don't think we'll get a coup that everyone hoped for, and I don't think the Iranian government will give up power.

Why?

First, they don't give a damn how many of their people die, in fact, I would bet they hope a lot do so that they can gain sympathy from the UN and the major news media...much like Hamas. It's a plan and has worked over and over and is working right now too.

Second, they signed the Geneva Convention in 1949; however, while they have signed the Additional Protocols I, II, and III of 1977, they have not ratified them - meaning - they are not a party to them. These additional protocols are the ones that deal with bombing civilians and/or civilian infrastructure.

Third, I think the majority of opposition has been killed off in Iran. I always have thought the major portion of the war would be fought by the CIA and I wonder if they have done everything they could or were supposed to do.

So, what will happen if Trump bombs bridges and power plants. Many state these are dual purpose, performing both military and civilian functions, as such, legitimate targets; however, others disagree.

Many state since Iran isn't party to the Additional Protocols then this portion of the Geneva Convention has no meaning concerning Iran; however, others state America is a party and would be committing a crime.

The rub is how to get Iran to agree to peace conditions without committing or, depending on your interpretation, being seen to commit war crimes under the Additional Protocols. Personally, I don't know if it is possible. I actually can see all transportation (roads, bridges, rails, ports, etc.) and power plants destroy and still the government refusing to step down.

To me, all Iran has to do is hold on, delay, delay, delay for time is on their side. All they have to do is not lose while we have to win and the clock is ticking against us with midterms and world opinion closing fast.

I am interested in hearing the Tree's thoughts/replies for perhaps I am not seeing everything or my vision is distorted.

You don't have to destroy the water treatment plant or power plant, just destroy the water and power lines coming from them. They are easy to fix when the shooting stops.

 

That's the understatement of this century! Christians of various stripes have spent the last 1000 years or so killing them by the millions. Hell, we've killed more Jews than Hitler and the Nazis, it just took us longer. If the Jews/Zionist do mean us ill, it's just them trying to do unto us before we do unto them!

 

Yea, right...maybe some of them are, but I thank GOD ALMIGHTY that they are over there and we are over here. I would HATE to be a Christian in an Arab/Islamic nation. Like most people in the world, they are "good" because they are too damn busy with the business of living to cause trouble. Also, most of those countries have a King, Shah, or President for Life, which is a good thing, because with an ironman standing on their necks the people can't cause too much trouble.
