For those people that do not care for shoes but cut your feet quite often when going barefoot, they now make Kevlar socks. This is such an interesting product. These are toe socks but they say these socks will protect your feet. Love the concept but hate the price. These are $80 a pair but may be worth it, will research more before pressing the order button.

Here is the info on Swiss FYF (free your feet) Socks:

    Here is a good review-
Swiss Protection Sock Review | Natural Runner

Please note- these socks are not 100% puncture resistant. The smaller sharp objects have been known to get through the fabric. I do believe these are a great product if you want to lose the shoes and run free.

    Here is the promo video-

My feet are WAY too sensitive - just looking at the guy standing on the rocks is painful

Nails, thorns, glass (depending on size of glass shard) will go right through them. They will keep your feet from getting cut up, but not beaten bloody by rocks, uneven surfaces, or other things. Think leather moccasins, not hard soled boots.

And, I can buy a fairly decent pair of boots for $80 so...

Hmmm.... so the unasked question we all have: will these protect you when you shoot yourself in the foot? ;)

I must persuade the ladies in my knitting group to explore the possibilities of knitting with Kevlar yarn....

It may be a little more expensive than the usual woolen and alternative synthetic yarns.

Just have to get the group to stump up the cost of a 3D Knitting machine. :(

This looks interesting....supposedly Kevlar yarn upload_2017-3-7_11-24-49. Alibaba Manufacturer Directory - Suppliers, Manufacturers, Exporters & Importers minimum order qty of 2,000 balls might be a bit of an ask...but fairly cheap at US$0.45-0.49 per ball.

They still won't protect you from a lego.
Nor will they protect you from a 55 gallon drum falling off the tail gate.
I'm betting a 9mm from a holstered pistol is going to push the sock through your foot but keeping the bullet from passing through the sock.

I'm of the opinion that these are an answer to the wrong question.

A pair of flip-flops from the dollar store will protect your feet better than these socks.

What a completely pointless "solution in search of a problem" product.

Interesting concept, but not too sure how effective they would be here in the rocks. Would love to see a product review from a customer. Where's Brokor?

Not very practical for every day use, but may be for around the pool and doing something that doesn't require heavy foot work .
May be going to bed with the possibility if having to get up in the middle of the night ,bathroom visits .
Due to the fact they are toes you couldn't wear boots or shoes as well.

I am a person that likes to be bare foot and ponderosa pines cones have these really sharp bards or whatever on them. A product that will give the comfort of being bare footed white protecting your feet is very interesting to me. I think moccasins would be great but they are more expensive then these socks.

Ooops. I was going to jump all over that, but Sperry has raised the price of Docksiders to roughly 105. But they kick off pretty quickly when I get off the gravel onto the grass (just before I step in the deer pellets.)

Not for Nuffin, But a great fitting pair of wrestling shoes or rock climbing shoes are almost like being bare footed while offering a little support AND traction. Salewa Shoes also makes some really good light weight shoes that sort of fit into this category as well. I am a Big fan of Asics Wrestling shoes, they are super light and flexible and they actually last more then a year. This is what I am wearing when not in Mountaineering Boots or dress shoes!

The one thing I buy from wallyworld are the $10 per pair cheap leather house slippers. Then I modify them a bit with some heavy duty thread to hold them together better. $10 slippers, 20 minutes of modifications and I have good footwear that last a year before it falls apart. Used to by $300 leather boots and shoes and never had a single pair last more than 6 months. I am guessing my cheap moccasins/modified house slippers offer more protection than these socks.

Oh my...stg....far be it for me to discourage you from wearing what you will....but one can still be surprised....;) For a time I wore a (military) kilt (Black Watch tartan), which certainly led to surprises for other folk...especially on windy days.
