US Economy won't recover until we get the criminals out of government ...and on MSNBC no less...crazy. What is the world coming to?
some people are actually opening their eyes. i have heard more than a few lord obummer voters admit that they made a mistake. i also had an email picture of a billboard sent to me. ....... it said, "if you voted for obama to prove you were not a racist, in 2012 vote against obama to prove you are not an idiot!"
That's awesome...I'd like to see that. But, really, that message is pointed at the independents who voted for him--those are the only ones you have a chance at using logic to NOT vote for him in the future (and that's if he wins the Dem convention...I would love to see a standing pres not win their party's convention for a 2nd term...that would truly be historic). The other group/s that voted for him are chronic idiots.
One huge difference is 'the economics of pain'. We Conservatives oppose obama and his policies becasue they HURT us. We lose jobs, homes, and have to pay much more for what we get, compared to afew years ago. And we are getting far less..... The independent fence-sitters that voted for 'hype & chains' are also hurting.... same circumstances - losing what they spent years working for, and being told to suck it up, "eat your peas and sacrifice!" for the 'greater good'. (ie.... the nonworking Welfareaholics). Those poor Welfare Liberals who voted for obummer - THEY still get their Government checks, food stamps, subsidised housing, education and other'rights' conned from a gullible Democratic Party in exchange forvotes. THEY are not hurting..... so they continue to "vote obama and ride the Gravy Train!" The better-off Liberals all wear their 'sacrifice' on their sleeves like a medal..... they thrive on the pain......
I have said the same thing, I fully believe that people voted for Obama to prove they were Not racist and to be part of history for electing the first black man To the presidency. I watched the democrat primaries and thought the same thing when His numbers leap froged Hillary Clintons. I also thought there was something fishy a few times about that rise.
After 0bama put us 6 trillion in hock; America needs to cut spending; however, England instituted "austerity measures" and there are riots in London. Cut welfare etc to the inner city and illegals all hell would follow.
considering that a lot of the welfare is doled out on a state level, and the feds are driving the states into bankruptcy, that may soon be coming here.
True, however it is not just the states; the fed is dragging each and every one of us into bankruptcy. As we offer the same (money, rent subsidy, food stamps, activity centers) as the Brits; if we cut we'll see the same as the Brits. Sooner or later, I figure it will come here.
No body in their right mind would want to run for national office. Ergo, we have a lot of in office. With the exception of the Pauls (IMHO). The rest of them are megalomaniacs that want the power and are willing to spend any amount of money to get it. Seriously, would you spend tens to hundreds of millions of dollars to get a job that pays less than 500k. That would be akin to going to your local golden arches and giving the manager nearly 4million dollars for a minimum wage job. Doesn't seem logical unless you know that you will wield the power for a really long time. Our poor line cook has a snowballs chance in Hell, Michigan of becoming the owner of the franchise. Just saying that something is rotten in DC, has been for a really long time and don't see it changing until the republic fails and we get to hit the reset button while watching the bodies swinging from the gallows.
Well said VisuTrac. Term limits are really our only hope for this not happening again in 20-30 years (and that's if we make it out of this).
Term limits and no lifetime pension/benefits. Back to private life for you mr. representative/president. Time to work for a living.
Most of these comments about our politicians have been around since there have been politicians. If they aren't criminals, or at least self-serving pigs, when they are elected to office, they are by the time they leave. Just look at the issues that were being discussed when Andrew Jackson was elected president of America in 1828. That campaign was even nastier than our current ones. Politics in this country haven't changed much, and it is about the same no matter where you are. Below are excerpts from a favorite poem, written by Khalil Gibran about the country of Lebanon, and published in 1934. Read it and see if it doesn't apply nicely to our own, current society. Pity the nation that is full of beliefs and empty of religion. Pity the nation that wears a cloth it does not weave, eats a bread it does not harvest, and drinks a wine that flows not from its own winepress. Pity the nation that acclaims the bully as hero, and that deems the glittering conqueror bountiful. Pity the nation that despises a passion in its dream, yet submits in its awakening. Pity the nation that raises not its voice save when it walks in a funeral, boasts not except when its neck is laid between the sword and the block. Pity the nation whose statesman is a fox, whose philosopher is a juggler, and whose art is the art of patching and mimicking. Pity the nation that welcomes its new ruler with trumpetings, and farewells him with hootings, only to welcome another with trumpetings again. Pity the nation whose sages are dumb with years and whose strong men are yet in the cradle. Pity the nation divided into fragments, each fragment deeming itself a nation.
