Had folks come to live in the hills without knowing about everything that WILL make them sick.. Drink from a stream or fail to inspect water tanks, you could die. True story ; I started getting sick to my stomach and developed some diarrhea with no apparent reason.. Checked my cystern and found several dead and decomposing mice.. After draining it, cleaning the rotting bodies out, I used a gallon or more of bleach to clean and flush the water line down to the house.. Screened over the opening to the cystern and have not had problems since.. Should of done this in the first place...
