Winchester 12 12 gauge shotgun. 30” full choke barrel. Blue on barrel is good and wood is good. Receiver shows wear. Shotgun functions well.
It was made in 1961 from the serial number.
I was wondering about its value and if its rare or not.

I am looking to possibly part with it if its collectible as I would rather someone that collects have it because I think they would appreciate it more.

    Anyone have any ideas?

I am a big Model 12 fan; my favorite shotgun by far. It and the Model 37 Ithaca are the only two pump guns that I know of that will fire when locked into battery with the trigger depressed; it is lightning fast and smooth. They are now discontinued and have started accruing a bit of collectors value. A new one sold for around $50.00 in 1961 and will bring $300-500 most places now in good condition, with the military ones or the fancy grade one bringing the higher prices. One with the military bomb stamp and the bayonet lug and heat shield will command a much higher price.
