Sometimes i ask myself why on earth would i want to make a folding knife. Anyway, this one has drove me crazy. It doesn't look like it but it took a full day just to inlay the gold into the ivory. You gotta be just a miteeeee careful to avoid chipping the ivory. I had to make an odd shaped chisel to get in there and dovetail the ivory. The round gold circles i will shape them into a raised dome shape then finish cutting a border around the gold so that it pops. So, quite a bit to go on the side you are looking at. I will post a finished photo when it is complete. The other side is just rough engraved at this point.
