For Charity.... GREELEY, CO - The Elks - a national charitable organization - is asking hunters to donate their hides for a good cause. It’s called the Veterans Leather Program and, basically, the Elks turn donated hides into fingerless leather gloves for disabled veterans. http://www.9news.com/news/article.aspx?storyid=101635&catid=188
Been doing that here since i was child, there are hide barrels all over the mnts for you to drop them off.
The boy scouts have been doing that here to forever. They leave barrels for antelope, deer, and Elk hides and donate it to charity. They also go on the national elk refuge in the spring and pick up dropped antlers and sell them for charity.
