If you had one that wasn't in girl sizes I might be interested just to own it [ROFL] Just kidding, dude ;) , it is a tad tiny, though, I would never get my arms through the holes even if the chest was bigger ;)

It does look very well done though. Nice work. $80ish seems a little low for all that time spent on it...

I did neglect to say that the work looks great, it must have taken forever to make.

Oh thanks guys. It took me several months on and off in my spare time. I thought my fingers would ache for eternity from gripping the pliers for so long. I ended up using all of the rings I had ordered, and I would have needed at least another 5,000 rings to get sleeves on it. As you can tell it probably would have needed another 5k rings on top of that to make it a normal size. 15,000 rings is far more than I had anticipated putting into the project, so I left it be.

Chain mail is serious work. ;)

You can cheat on it and not have to buy rings that way. Take the springs like on the old screen doors and use a hacksaw to cut length ways along it and that spring a couple of feet long becomes tons of rings. I used to know some guys who did a fair bit of chain mail.

...just currious, so are you SCA? or if not what was the vest for?

Ya, I was part of the SCA but the vest was only a hobby/project. I had to wear 16 ga. steel when I would compete.

Yeah I knew it wouldnt meet the requirements for competeing but have known some of the guys who would use something like that over their actual armor, like useing plastic or a couple layers of shag carpet or something for their armor then something like the chain mail to hide it, especialy for big battles and meleas and such or if they were doing expos.
