Very few of the folks in seats of power were ever in actual harms way. It's by design. Dodge Or Serve and embellish your career it's all theater for the bigger game of politics. It's all going to be used for or against ya.
Suffer TDS much? John Fogerty avoided the draft by joining the Army reserve never served in Vietnam never saw combat. Fogerty is your typical rich liberal. "On an X-ray, a bone spur, or osteophyte, appears as an abnormal bony outgrowth, projection, or ridge extending from a normal bone . They are most often found at the edge of joints or where tendons and ligaments attach to bone." Trump would have been examined by a military doctor and given a 4F classification Clinton dodged the draft by staying in college and getting a 2S student deferment but that is OK with you Anyone can generate a bogus picture
I have bone spurs and it is certainly a disqualifying condition. No way I could hike 10 miles, or even 5. Imagine having a nail driven into your heel, then put on a backpack and go for a hike. Having an actual medical condition that prevents you from serving is not "dodging".
TDS??? - this guy needs a pack of Biden Pampers for his discharge ...... notice the tail end of his rant >>>> nothing but a disguised illegals promoter - likely one of the hypocrites that just wants his cheap labor to continue ......
I think we've gotten a whole slew of anti-American pro-anything anti-trump members recently. Guess they are trying to do a community outreach program. Or just someone that wants to be controversial and stir the pot.
Which branch did Biden serve in? Clinton? Anybody with half a brain tried to get out of that Cluster Fu*k! The only thing good about being young and in Vietnam was being surrounded by LBFMPBR.
I fail to see why not serving in Vietnam or refusing to serve in the military during that time frame is considered unpatriotic. Tell me, was the US military involvement in Vietnam justified? I'm all ears - tell me. It's 50 years later and we still don't know WTH we were doing there and what we got for 58,000+ dead and 500,000+ WIA and trillions of dollars spent and decades of broken families, pain and suffering, and costs for caring for wounded soldiers. Anyone, with a lick of common sense doesn't go to war for no damn reason...yet our government did it for 10 years! The US government horribly abused their power and threw away young lives of their citizens for no national purpose and by doing so lost the respect and trust from their populous which will never be regained. THAT is what we got from Vietnam! That's it. We cannot and will never again trust our own government.
Once some folks figure out war is quite profitable, all you get is endless war. The supposed reason for involvement in SEA was the Truman doctrine In the end, we spent a fortune in blood and money - and Vietnam is still Commie. .(BTW - look at labels, a lot of food and clothing comes from the former RVN) A corrupt mass of (redacted) - just like the (redacted) in SWA. MacArthur was right, despite being a pompass ass.
I'm fine with Trump not serving. I don't think anybody is going to get any sympathy around here for having TDS. And just for the record, everywhere he goes he pays his respects. Trump has long been and will always be 100% for the troops. He's not like the many Congress critters who "served", then promotes terrorism abroad like McCain and so many others. So, for what it's worth, there are patriots and there are scumbags. You don't have to be a veteran to be a patriot.
Pttt. Have a bit of angst there do we? I know guys that stayed in school, guys that entered clergy, went to Canada to advoid the draft. I graduated the year they shut it off. Of my little town of 511 people we had 6 boys killed there. So, yes, many of our guys was doing everything they could to avoid. Bone spurs is a medical condition that will keep you out. Xray will determine that they sure wont take your word for it.
So you are saying we who answered the call have half a brain. It was only a cluster fuck because the politicians would not let us fight to win. Those were the ones with half a brain not us!!!!!! The US got suckered into Vietnam after the French were defeated Eisenhower sent advisors to support the souths army as did Kennedy to stop the commies from the north. LBJ escalated it by sending troops. All on the pretext that if South Vietnam went commie the rest of Indochina would--- term domino effect. McNamara pushed this domino BS. As the son of a WWII vet I answered the call thinking my government had my back-young and dumb. We (the military) could have won if we were allowed to fight but those in WDC were afraid China and Russia would have gotten involved 100% and thus WWIII. Hind sight my generation was used and abused. A great book History of Vietnam by Stanley Karloff I read it because I wanted to know what the hell we were fighting for
Take your TDS and shove it right up your Jacksy, you'll get no respect here with that attitude of yours! Viet Nam, yea, nothing good came from sending our youth there, my father, my uncle's, cousins, all for NOTHING but to sell Military hardware and toothpaste and destroy the lives of millions of Americans! I grew up with the nightmares of those vets who fought in that war that wasn't actually a war, saw those vets in the community, the guys missing an arm or leg, or burnt to a crisp, horrific scars, the worst were the ones of the mind,..... So tell me again, how would serving in Nam or not would disqualify one from being President of the United States! You never trumpers are all the same,.. I bet you were one of those enlightened Berkeley Student protesters that Spit on American Soldiers that made it safely home, screamed at that them, called them Baby Killers, and all sorts of other nasty not nice vial crap, yea, ............ take your self righteousness and Go Fuck YourSelf
Yep, remember John "Lurch" Kerry, and his bogus Purple Hearts in Vietnam. Some "Vets" give the rest of us a bad rep. Many older actors tried to join, but were denied for various reasons. John Wayne was 4F'd for his feet, I think. He served by making movies supporting the military. Robert Falck had a glass eye, denied Navy enlistment but served on a merchant ship, very dangerous in WWII.
I graduated high school in '75. I tried to sign up for Selective Service, as it was federal law. The lady running the Selective Service desk literally refused me, saying "Don't bother, the military is downsizing!" So I went and joined the USAF for my first hitch - 1976 thru 1980. Reupped into the USN for my second hitch - 1980 thru 1986. Luckily I am able to tell people "I served Between Wars!"
I'm surprised Prez Trump didn't attend one of the military academies for college - maybe get himself admitted to West Point - most people don't realize he was a dominant high school ROTC student - attended New York Military Academy - some video from those days of him leading the corp in NYC parades ......
Maybe not stupid, but you sure didn't try really hard to stay out. As a young teen I watched and read the news religiously, and I was beginning to have serious doubts about the war. By the time I was anywhere close to draft age I knew that I didn't want to go but didn't know how to avoid it. As it turns out there were numerous ways to avoid the draft and Vietnam, some more honorable than others. You could go to college, become a farmer, enlist in the Guard or Reserve, enlist in the military and stand an excellent chance of being sent to Europe, go to Europe or Canada, claim a medical exemption (migraine headaches were a favorite), and if all else fails you could tell the draft board that you had had sex with men or animals. While I was in college (1976-82) I ran across an old paperback book entitled "How to Beat the Draft" that was written in the early 1970s, so there were ways around it. Didn't have to worry about getting drafted myself because I developed a medical condition for which I still that medication, the draft ended before I had to register, I went to college, and I grew up on a farm, so I had a lot of options.
I registered for the draft when I turned 18. Got tired of waiting to get drafted,,so I joined the Corps in '82 . My younger brother joined about a year later ,, and he received his Draft registration slip ,, while he was in boot camp at Parris Island. ,,, And yes ,,, I did hear about Trump's Military school years,,, and his . Trump has done a lot of stuff for different folks ,, and still does ,, but you never hear about it . Because he doesn't do it for show. A lot of people call him racist ,,, if that's true ,, then why was Trump the highest donor for Jesse Jackson ,, when he ran for president,,, twice ,, I think. Another time ,, a black man was trying to start a business and couldn't get a loan from any bank to start his business. They all turned him down. Someone he knew ,, knew Trump ,, and got him an appointment with Trump to see about getting a loan. Trump ended up giving the man a 1 year loan ,, Trump gave him the loan ,, said no payments,, just come back in a year and pay me back. A year later ,, the guy went back to Trump,, with check in hand to pay off the loan. They said Trump talked to the man about his business,, how it was doing ,, the man said it's doing good ,, the man handed Trump the check ,, Trump ripped the check in half , and gave it back to the guy. But yea I get it there " Flex" monkey ,,, everything in the world is all peaches and cream ,,, except for that damned Trump guy ,,, carry on ,
I don't know why you have such a boner for the Don. Hell, man he's been shot in the head and walked away...and you?
