This looked like a good site tied in with a lot of my interests. I have been into the survival/outdoors scene for a long time, going back to the survivalist movement in the 1980s Cold War period. Somewhere along the way, the popular mainstream term became "prepper." There was the saying, "Survivalist? No, Realist." I also enjoy the outdoors, camping, hiking, shooting/firearms, reading and writing. Am I making this sound like too much of a personal ad, lol. Anyway, I'm here to hopefully learn a few things from some like-minded people, friendly discussion and make a few friends.

Welcome from SC. I had a '66 Fairlane drag car once upon a time. You made me think of it lol. What part of the world are you from?
My first car was a 1964 Ford Fairlane. It was originally my grandmother's work commute car she bought new. Later she gave it to my brother as his first car until finally it was passed on to me. Wish I still had it, now it's a classic. I presently live in Nevada.
Welcome aboard from North Carolina's crystal coast. Lots of stuff to learn about here, and folks who always want to learn new stuff. I think you'll enjoy our little monkey tree. You've sent me wandering down memory lane. I don't think it was a Fairlane, but a 2 door Ford LTD that a girlfriend crashed into a BIG ash tree. She had the imprint of the volume knob on her knee. The car was trash. Hit so hard it sheared all the head bolts off on the right bank. Junk yard asked me if it was "complete." It was. We had picked up all the pieces and thrown them in the back seat. They were not impressed, but paid me the price they'd quoted.
