Been poking around the boards looking at what other folks have as far as critters. Guess I am a bit different, I can't stand goats or rabbits. Nothing against folks that love them, just not my cup of tea. I do however like Irish Dexter Cattle, Pigs, Turkeys and Chickens.

Thanks for sharing. Gosh, piglets are so cute. I cannot believe you have the turkeys penned with the piglets, I would think the turkeys would beat them up. Turkeys can be real mean.

I raise around 250-300 turkeys per year, most hang out in the pasture and the west woods and I don't see them until the first week of November when we drive them into the catch pens. 10-20 though always decide to live with the younger pigs, they learn pretty fast that they are a meal for the big sows and boars. But they always have got along well with the 40-120 pound pigs.

ditch witch I do stupid crap, so you don't have to

I was thinking the pigs would eat the turkeys. I had a pig kill and eat a kitten, a rooster, and a 100 pound goat that dared to get into her pen. Nasty witch nearly took a chunk out of my leg. She went to the butcher that day.

    Soay Sheep
Small farm pigs (Potbelly Feral cross)
Used to have chickens but the eagles got them
Used to have guineas but the hawks got them
Used to have turkeys but the bobcats got them
Used to have geese but feral dogs got them
Notice the predation did not take place inside the pastures where my Great Pyrs might have protected them. I've expanded fencing like a castle perimeter, so now terrestrial predators have to run a gauntlet
There's an extensive write up on the sheep and pigs in my website, see sig line

Dogs need a job , just ask Ralph .

Nasty critters that hurt others are dealt with NOW and on SITE . They know death & punishment or removal to it's "ROOM" ..
Depends on critter. but all must get long , plus we never hold food back EVER , Water yes , because we give the treats of it. NOT Starving , just on the other side of the fence / cage for training , they get it. Halter / leash on 24/hrs for that time also , breaks & tells them . .

They all like me , and say mooooooooooooooooooorning every day ,
