The National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF), the trade association of the firearms and ammunition industry, has learned that due to the voluminous phone calls received in opposition to bullet serialization, the Executive Committee will no longer be taking up the issue today.

"The pulling of this anti-gun legislation, and specifically the sponsors' reason for pulling this anti-gun legislation, demonstrates the extraordinary grassroots capabilities of the firearm industry's base, vigilant sportsmen and gun-owners," said NSSF Senior Vice President and General Counsel Lawrence G. Keane. "But we should be under no illusion here, bullet serialization remains a threat in states across the country and can be easily reintroduced in the Land of Lincoln."

NSSF will continue to monitor all firearms and ammunition related legislation at the federal, state and local levels of government.<!-- / message --><!-- sig -->

Which state? There are at least 5 with that in committee as of last month. Post is meaningless without that info.
