My state is an 'open carry' one at the State level. We don't get CCW permits, It reads Handgun Carry Permit on the card.

I spoke with the powers that be at the Capitol and they told me that all local Firearms laws supercede the State ones. Oh Well.

The past few days, I have walked around town, in and out of restraunts, stores etc. With a Handgun on my side. Haven't been seen by a LEO yet but no one else seems to stare at it. I plan on adopting an open carry policy until I am told otherwise.. OH, I did leave it in the Truck on Friday while walking into the Bank.

We'll see where this leads. I'm assuming that if I am violating a City ord, I'd just get a "Put it away" from the local Law. It's a pretty rural spot.

If I get Shot, You'll know not to cruise through East TN with a sidearm! [peep]

Convince more to do the same. Arizona is an open carry state, and I have heard that it is not uncommon to see lots of people carry openly. If Texas was then I would. That is something that needs to be changed.

Good for you! NV is also open carry legal but it's a bad idea in Vegas and permits are easy to get, so there's no reason to. I go in banks and casinos all the time with my gun but I could not if I carried it openly.

when I carry concealed, I leave it on everywhere. Sign to the contrary or not.

I think the penalty if caught would be worth the risk of reaching for it and realizing I had left it under the seat of my truck

I am getting a 9mm and carrying that all the time from now on. My .45 is just too bulky and heavy. I will probably miss my .45 on my back waist nevertheless. Florida is certainly not an open carry state, although I wish it were.

I thought Texas was open carry. Is that for revolvers only? Perhaps I have been misinformed.

No, I was going to get my CW permit, but I decided against it. I would rather get caught carrying without their permit than to become a slave who only has the privilege to carry. My rights are all I have left along with my honor and my word. Besides, I doubt I will ever get caught wearing my gun.

I just can't trade my right to bear arms for the privilege to carry. You consent to have your home searched and property seized if you signed that CWP. [loco] It makes no sense to me why I should get a permit, or why anybody does.

    I don't know, man. [ghrit]
