Down here in SENM, we don't usually get very much snow. Maybe a couple of light (2-3") snowfalls during Jan/Feb.

But this year, global warming has obviously kicked in. It started snowing late Thursday night. And it snowed off and on all day Friday. Friday evening, it started snowing harder. And it's still snowing! We must have 9" on the ground right now. Yep, definitely global warming. :D

As far as what this has to do with emergency and disaster preparedness.....we have a nice long broom. This broom has been a lifesaver over the last 2 days. The long handle is just what we need to knock the snow off of our satellite dish! LOL Seriously, around here, 3" of snow is enough to get school and work cancelled for the day. 9"? That has paralyzed the town. Not to mention falling enough on the dish that we lose tv reception. Truly a disaster! LOL

Last night, I fixed up a nice big pot of beef/veggie soup and cornbread. Yep, had all the ingredients here at home. Today we'll have leftovers. Tomorrow, we're gonna cook up a little ham, some sweet 'taters, rolls and whatever else I can think of. It's all gonna come outta preps or from shopping trip earlier this week when snow was first predicted.

Hopefully, I won't have to go out for anything until the roads get better. We don't have sand trucks or plows down here, so the roads are gonna be full of snow for a while.

Anywho, we're gonna have a White Christmas!

    Merry Christmas, everyone.

Sounds like y'all are all set to just snug down and enjoy a nice quiet Christmas. Been gray and cloudy here, with possible rain. Ah well, such is life in North Florida in the winter. [beer]

Me, i'm celebrating a lone Festivus....... [LMAO]

    Corn and Crab Bisque

    1 - Onion (diced)
    1 - Stick of butter
    2 Tbsp - Flour
1 Lb - Crab claw meat
1 Qt - Half and half
    1 can - Creamed Corn
    1 can - Potato Soup
    1/2 Tsp - Worcestershire Sauce
    1/4 cup - American Cheese
    Dash of Tony's
    Dash of Cayenne pepper

Melt butter. Saute onion. (I like to pick the shells out of the crab meat while the onion is cooking down.) Sprinkle in flour. Stir. Add remaining ingredients and simmer 30 minutes on low heat. Of course, the longer it cooks, the better.

    It's business time.
