can anyone identify the manufacturer origin stamp of this 223 ammo?
    223.1. 223.2.

I would say either Igman or Serb....

There were a few who painted a black tip on the bullet which were not AP. I want to point more toward Igman...

    Isn't Igman headstamped "IK"?

These are marked .223 (with a strange mark at 180 degrees) which implies civilian manufacture, red marked primers indicative of AP and these came from a US military source.

I think it is Serb as well. It is not US military we don't shoot anything that doesn't have the NATO stamp on it or marked .223. I have reloaded a bunch of this brass, it is fairly crappy to load and about %10 has to be thrown out. I don't know where red laquer means AP, you don't mark AP anywhere but on the bullet. The only people to mark black tips on 5.56 were the Canadians at one time, but they stopped doing it. Sounds like the Serbs are trying to cash in on the M855 craze. What are you calling a "military source"?
