I need to buy a survival knife and I don't know which one to choose in these ones : Ka-Bar BK2 Ontario Ranger RD-4 BG Ultimate knife (Without Serrations) Gerber Big Rock Promate Titanium Pro Dive im open to other knive suggestion under 100$ Thanks !!
What a rabbit hole this is lol....I have several knives, but the one I consistently fall back on, and the one that goes in my BOB, is the Ontario Mk3 MOD O dive/survival knife. Ontario Knife's Catalog It has what I consider to be the total package: sawing, chopping, hammering, and was made to withstand the harshest conditions. In fact, I own two. They're that good. If you don't want serrations, I highly recommend the Cold Steel SRK. SRK : Survival Recue Knife - Cold Steel Knives An unbelievably thick and sharp blade, indestructible, and, when used with a stout stick, is in its prime for hacking through wood. My second favorite knife is the Gerber LMF II ASEK. LMF II ASEK - FG504 Green ....it's a great secondary knife. I would like a little more blade, but it was made for aviators and hence, follows the pattern set by the old USAF knife (which is also a good one, might I add). All of these are priced under $75.
