Sounds like someone should kick the 7th Court of Appeals' collective doors down at 4am. Un-hung traitors if you ask me.

Yes they can do it. They can do anything their little hearts desire.

But they that do it are in peril of violating the law of unintended consequences.

There was recently a marine, who being awakened in the early hours by home invaders did shot one or two. It was a no knock warrent being served. As I recall, no charges were filed against the home owner.

Be very very careful, what your tell the Shrink, or your Sawbones, or your Priest..... Had this lady NOT spouted off to her shrink, she wouldn't have had an issue, PERIOD..... Once the LEOs are involved, you are at their mercy..... and your only recourse is in front of the Judge.... This lady LOST that round, and those folks in that Appellate District now suffer for it.... Keep your Dang Pie Hole, SHUT.... Good Deed Doers are everywhere..... ........

Um, if a juvenile entered the house without adult supervision while Sutterfield was detained? If she's not home and anyone goes inside, isn't that breaking and entering? The cops seem to be acting like innocent kids will just end up in people's homes when they're not home, completely by accident. I know it's happened to me so many times, all of a sudden I'm in someone else's house, no idea what happened...

Therein lies the problem with legal decisions like this. All they're going to serve to do, is to prevent people who think they need help from getting it, for fear of losing their rights. Everyone in the whole gun/anti-gun debate seems to agree that people with mental problems are definitely part of the problem, but then pull something like this, which will keep that problem in the closet for everyone, not just the person who might temporarily need some assistance.

This lady needs to chase this case up to the Supreme Court. Sorry, but in the privacy of your own home, the police do NOT have the right to barge in and "protect" you, without permission. Do that in my part of the country, and you're likely going to be replacing a police officer or two!
