So... My Dear Wife has taken to watching 'cop videos' on the You Tube - you know the kind, entitled Karens screaming at the cops etc... They all seem to holding a cell phone, like it is a magic talisman, warding off all manner of consequences for bad behavior. I was surprised, when I looked at several other videos, at the use as a magic talisman and how many melt down when there cell phone are taken away. I'm curious - while these are YT videos, and might have happened as portrayed. Has anyone seen such a scene 1st hand? While I have some young folks who believe screaming will get them what they want - but the level of (screaming, howling, crying, etc) --makes me think drugs or alcohol are involved... Anyone?

Can't say I've seen it personally. But then again, I try to avoid people as much as possible because so many of them are batshit crazy now. I also don't watch shows like Cops anymore because they make me physically ill. What did they use before dumbphones and portable video cameras to record all of this? They just screamed, I suppose. Or people didn't act that crazy in the past. If I screamed at a cop like one of those crazy women, Officer Friendly would cave in my skull with a billy club or I would be slammed face-first into the pavement, handcuffed and Tasered while being told to "Stop Resisting!" ...On a similar but humorous tack, some comedian I saw on TV years ago joked about how TV remote controls were made to look like some sort of scepter to give men the illusion they still had control over their own house or the world in general because they were now relegated to a "man cave" due to the wife and kids taking over everything else. But he still has control over the TV!
Saw a woman being arrested back around 2000 when I lived in Florida, some how, she believed that if she wailed and screamed from the moment she was placed under arrest and driven off, that she would be released. The one thing that is kryptonite to modern women is accountability. They simply cannot face accountability for their actions.
I saw the karen at the phillies game videos. so, I'm pretty sure they exist at this point even with the lack of first hand experience other than seeing an entitled middle aged white woman in target berating a gen z staffer a couple weeks back.
They ain't just middle aged. Last week I saw a maybe 18 year old girl screaming, cussing, crying, and throwing things at a guy at a gas pump because his truck was smoking and polluting her air. She even screamed something at me because I was laughing so hard I was crying. Old guy in the truck just pumped his gas and drove away.
it's actually not the worst occasional watching reminder of what we could be facing in a SHTF - these UTubes are mostly just normal day occurances >>> just imagine the SHTFtime Karens - ???? I firmly believe the worst that could happen in a SHTF is if you have had crippling bad OPSEC - land up with a whole front yard of neighborhood Karens screaming at you to SHARE !!!!!!!!!!!!
Yeah, during that time i'd bet that Karens learn real quickly that showing up like that has serious unintended consequences.
